Didn't stay here, just grabbed lunch, but what we had was pretty good. Very outback. The homemade pie has to be done. No t-sauce required. The rest of the food took a fair while to get cooked, but it's a small kitchen and the food was pretty good when it arrived. We were not in a rush. The site was...

I have visited Gemtree Caravan Park twice over the last 5 years. It is an incredible place out in the middle of nowhere. The fossicking experience is great fun but hard work so you would need to pick the cooler months to visit. You can choose which experience you would like. I would suggest trying for Garnets as Topaz is...

Thanks so much for your review, Teresa! We're so glad you enjoyed your repeat visit. Every year we make a few more improvements, little by little! Our latest news is the upgrade to the ladies bathrooms 😊 They look lovely! Enjoy your treasures.

70kms off the highway, this place was clean, tidy and welcoming. Offering free wi-fi which surprised the heck out of us. Peaceful tranquilty. Cabins have gas stoves, a fridge and air conditioning. Toilets and bathrooms were clean. They offer fossiking activities and had a pool but we arrived late and left early, so didn't get an opportunity to investigate. Nice...

We visited the Gem Tree Caravan Park many many years ago with our two kids which we all loved then, hubby and I recently returned and stayed four nights and we were certainly not disappointed. We absolutely loved it, it wasn't busy so we had plenty of room, enjoyed the peace and quiet, and even the bit of rain we...

Hi Ros and Popeye! So lovely to hear from you. Thanks so much for your kind words and for more of the same during your stay here with us. We're really glad you were able to take the time to drive over to Hale River Homestead and Arltunga (the neighbours!!), as East of Alice has a lovely owner-operator vibe. We...

Was quite expensive for only 16 hours of power which is 2/3 day only. No single rates unlike other places and one of the most expensive for 16 hours of power Staff were friendly and helpful but I wasn't the only one that wondered where the country friendliest was with Aaron maybe he wished he was away too (a few...

Thank you for posting your feedback Sue, we really do appreciate your time. Our site fees at Gemtree have only been raised by $2 in the last six years - we have single rates for a non powered site, but not for a powered site. I'm sure you can understand that we spend close to $150 000 each year running...

We decided to do an overnight stay between Wauchope and Alice Springs. A last minute decision and a great one as it turned out! Greg and all of the owners/staff made us feel very welcome. The park wasn't full so they spread us out a bit to give us some space. We had our own fire pit for a campfire...

If you are looking an outback experience this is the place. Vacilaties are clean and tidy well kept. They are basic but you are in the outback. It's a must to go on the Gemstone outing would highly recommend this experience. And yes you do actually find gemstones

Thanks so much, Gerald. We are giving our amenities a little facelift over the summer (the off season), new bench tops, basins, paint job, etc. Hopefully that adds a new lease of life to the place for another season! Cheers. Kate and Aaron.

We stayed in the dongas on a work trip. The room has a single bed, small cupboard and air con. The generator is turned off at 10:30pm and back on at 6:30am. I used the extra blanket in the cupboard but still froze at night. I'd suggest taking extra blankets in winter. The ablution block was good - clean and...

We stayed there last August, we stayed in their cabin right beside the amenities. What a great place & staff are very friendly & helpful. We went out on a fossick game tour to the garnet fields, we had a great day & flung plenty of garnets. We didn't get to the zircon fields due to a lot of Raceview...
