Detailed Reviews
I first visited Uluru 14 years ago when I first moved to Australia from California. I could appreciate its importance as a landmark and have cherished photos from that trip, but I hardly remembered the experience. My memories were of a very crowded sunset viewing area, the cold August morning, and the red dirt that remained on my shoes long after I had left. This was partly because I had a toddler with me at the time, and Uluru was the culmination of a several days road trip via campervan driving from Adelaide.
This year I felt compelled to revisit this journey. My objective was to slow down and take in my surroundings. Uluru would be the main event this time. I had heard of Longitude 131 many years ago and always wanted to go there precisely because of its luxury experience and because it was so remote compared to the other popular resorts in town.
Longitude 131 lives up to its reputation as a luxury resort, with incredibly well-furnished rooms, elaborate menus at each meal that feature native ingredients, and the highly attentive and personable staff, but the real standout was the access and view of Uluru itself. The privacy and intimacy of being able to look out over your balcony towards this beautiful sandstone creation was the height of luxury. It is a completely unique setting for appreciating Australia’s most sacred spot.
I chose to stay 3 nights, and this meant many of the tours were included such as the 10km Uluru base walk and a short hike at Kata-Tjuta. I highly recommend 3 nights as a minimum to get the full experience. A complete itinerary was provided upon arrival with plenty of time to relax in the afternoon or linger over gorgeous meals in the dining room (also with a spectacular view of Uluru.)
And while I specifically came to experience the solitude of the desert, I was so impressed by how the property itself and the warmth of the people working there and other guests made it feel like a little community. We were all sharing the same special experience and wonder.
Whomever had envisioned Longitude 131 has really created something special. It is a beautiful tribute to such a sacred and magical place.

Dear Laura S, We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed what sounds like a nostalgic return to the Red Centre and we’re happy Longitude 131° was the catalyst for your experience. We take pride in our connection with the land and in sharing the rich, local culture. Just 12 kilometres away from the monolith as the crow flies, we are blessed to be the only property with direct views of Uluru. Our staff will be so pleased to read your kind review! They work hard to deliver the best experience possible for our guests and strive to exceed all expectations. Thanks again for the lovey feedback and we hope to have you back to join our little community again soon! Palya, The Longitude 131 Team

Nothing is too much for the staff here who are attentive and friendly but not in your face. Accomodation is clean and very comfortable with the option to sleep it under the stars in a swag (on the day bed) or in the glamming tents - complete with air con and lovely bedding etc. with a on site spa, plunge pool and a small swimming pool - both with their own bar and a 2 hours walking trail you could stay on site or you can go on a variety of tours.
Food was amazing and dietary requirements are very well catered for. The chef is fantastic. Such a great holiday.

This is my 4th visit to L131 since Baillie Lodges acquired the property, this stay was the best! We visited late September, on previous visits I've stayed in mid September, May & July. September is ideal as it's not too cold for the early morning walks & not too hot during the day......also the flies are absent! What made this stay extra special from previous stays, was the spectacular food and outstanding dining service. Chef Tom (ex Southern Ocean Lodge) has totally revitalized and improved the menus to a superior standard. The food and beverage service with Rachel at the helm (also ex SOL) has markedly improved making the entire dining experience a pure joy. The all inclusive package which includes all food, beverages ( including Louis Roederer Champagne) and touring is certainly my preferred way to travel! The signature tours/experiences on offer are very good and will certainly give you an extensive understanding and connection to the National Park. I recommend a minimum stay of 4 nights, especially if you wish to experience other tour options or even just spend a day relaxing at the lodge. I highly recommend booking a 36 minute Heli flight which departs from L131 and gives you spectacular views of Uluru and Kata Tjuka. Book early if you wish to experience the Sunset Flight. It's mesmerizing to see this unique outback landscape from above. When booking your accommodation Baillie Lodges reservation staff are happy to book all Bespoke touring, eg Sunset motor bike tours, camel rides, visits to Kings Canyon, private hiking, etc, etc so that you don't miss out on limited places available.
Then of course is the Spa, which is certainly worth a visit!
The improved amenities at L131 such as the swimming pool area, the outdoor Dining platform at Table 131 plus the Dune Top Bar, which includes a plunge pool and private dining booths that overlook Uluru & Kata Tjuka are wonderful. Definitely treat yourself to an extra special private dining experience in a booth of your choice a top a dune! My September 2020 stay was superb as this was my first time staying in the Dune Pavilion. It is beautifully appointed with every luxury including stunning aboriginal art.......and with views of both Uluru and Kata Tjuka from your own private outdoor dining deck, plunge pool and day bed area......the extra cost is worth it! Ben and Lou are first rate lodge managers and their professional, friendly & welcoming team truly look after your every whim. Thank you all at Longitude 131 for a fantastic stay and the happy memories. looking forward to when I visit again.

Dear Bronwyn M, Thank you so much sharing this lovely reflection of your stay! To have topped the previous three times you’ve visited the lodge is a remarkable achievement and one our staff will be incredibly proud of. We continually strive to improve on the experience we offer our guests, and we’re thrilled your recent trip has set the benchmark. Chef Tom and Rachel (and their respective colleagues) work wonders given the challenges of providing five-star cuisine in the middle of the desert, and we are incredibly proud of them and what they achieve, all with a smile. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the included signature experiences exploring Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. As you mentioned, should any of our bespoke experiences appeal, our Reservations team can assist with bookings and go the extra mile to choreograph a truly personal stay. The heli-sunset tour is unforgettable and we’re glad you got the chance to see the Red Centre from above. As a multi-return guest it means a lot to us that you are so commending of the enhancements we’ve made at the property, and so complimentary of our staff. Thank you for being a part of the Baillie Lodges family, and we hope to see you again in the future! Team Longitude

My husband and I stayed at Longitude for 3 nights recently and cannot fault our stay. While the location of this resort allows for views of Uluru, Kata Tjuta and the Field of Light from the comfort of an armchair or the spa, what truly sets this place apart is the staff.
Housekeeping kept our well appointed ‘tent’ clean and stocked of goodies. The chef and his team provided us with delicious meals prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients - not and easy task given the distance to the nearest market! My husband’s dietary requirements were catered to without fuss and the alternate meals offered were of an equally high standard to the other options available.
All of the staff in the main reception and dining room were beyond helpful and made our stay so very enjoyable. Tiana, Rachel, Dennis, Sydney, Dora, Natalie, Chris, Ben and Lou went above and beyond to look after our every need.
There are tours offered each morning and evening that are included in the package. We also organised a helicopter flight for one of the afternoons which gave us a whole new perspective on this spectacular country - thank you Austin.
Even on the day we left and were taken back to our car we were given a care package for lunch including delicious quiches, homemade muesli bars (they were the ‘bomb’) and other goodies. It’s this attention to detail and staying in a place where all of the staff go above and beyond to make your time enjoyable that make me keen to save up for a return visit.

Dear Christine On behalf of the team at Longitude 131, thank you for your glowing review! Our staff do everything they can to ensure guests have an unforgettable experience, and they’ll be grateful to hear you enjoyed your stay. Taking off for a scenic helicopter flight is a must-do and it sounds like your pilot Austin made the adventure very memorable. The spectacular views from above only just beat the view over toes from the end of the bed or from the depths of the spa. Chef Tom and his team do an amazing job procuring the best ingredients from around the nation and catering to special dietary requirements is their forte - we're so pleased your husband felt well looked after. The packed lunch is our little way of saying thanks, and we hope it made the travel a little smoother. Thanks again, Christine and we hope to see you again for that return visit! Until then stay safe. Sincerely Longitude 131 Team

Stayed in May for 2 nights at this incredible place. Cannot recommend highly enough as the whole experience was just out of this world.
The staff go far above and beyond in the service they provide and nothing is too much trouble. The Dune House is central for meeting up, gorgeous meals, extensive drink selection and staff to help with absolutely anything. I had a dietary requirement and I only had to mention it once when I arrived, and everything was catered for me, without a mention or a second thought.
The staff that transport you to and from the accommodation are so kind and friendly, and those who lead the tours, walks and talks, are so knowledgeable and respectful to the aboriginal culture, it was a pleasure to be part of the experience.
Table 131 is an absolute treat and I loved that the menu was shown to us beforehand, in case we needed to ask for anything different. Surrounding the campfire, and catering to the dropping temperatures we wouldn't have had one thing different.
Our room had everything we could need, including lots of lovely extra touches, such as pillow gifts at night, filtered water, fly nets, and a backpack to use.
I would love to visit again, and see some more of the sights, and spend a little more time actually at Uluru. The experiences on offer are perfect, and cater to all levels of fitness and interest.
Thank you Ben and your team, for making our bucket list trip, even more special.

This resort is so perfect in every way but for us what made it so special is that from any part of the resort "the Rock" is always within view and given the effort required to get there I'm so glad that we could watch and enjoy this ancient monolith at anytime of day!! The staff are incredible, so accomodating and friendly. The "tents" areas lovely with every comfort considered and provided . We can highly recommend all the included activities as well as the Grand View Sunset Helicopter flight. We originally booked the 4 night Classic Platinum Package but when Jetstar completely stuffed up our arrival date we had to reduce our stay to 3 nights. I think 4 nights would have been ideal as the 3 night stay didn't allow for much down time.

Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience with us at Longitude 131. The strong, resilient presence of Uluru is indeed with guests throughout their stay - even from the tent's ensuite shower, thanks to a clever sliding mirror! Our team are personally invested in ensuring an unforgettable experience for each and every guest - we're so pleased you enjoyed their warm and genuine hospitality. It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed our signature guided experiences and complimented them with a scenic heli trip. Taking in the natural icons of Uluru and Kata Tjuta from above is a wonderful contrast once you've explored them on foot - the bird's eye view of the vast outback frontier is nothing short of extraordinary. We hope to welcome you back to the Baillie Lodges collection sometime soon. For now, palya and safe travels, Team Longitude

A “significant” birthday for my wife. One that will never be forgotten. We stayed two nights, with two and a half days of a personalised itinerary arranged by the staff. Despite being nearly full, we were made to feel as if we were the only ones there. From airport pick-up to drop off Louise it was idyllic. Make sure you arrange your own private Dune Top dinner. Accommodated in a hard walled luxurious “ tent”, with verandah, en suite and all the luxuries of an international 5* hotel. You want for nothing and you won’t miss TV as you gaze out overUluru. The itinerary, champagne and gorgeous food and inclusive top brand drinks throughout will ensure that. With a pm walk about around the base of Uluru, to sunup at Walpa Gorge & Kata-Tjuta and sunset over Uluru; the “field of light”, the culture centre and another night sky dinner at Table 131. The experience is unique and endless. There own ranger guides ensure you are always one step ahead of any crowd. Their well schooled and tested knowledge of the culture is second to none. Go and learn, enjoy yourselves but above all respect the heritage. You won’t be disappointed at all.

This was an outstanding resort experience at every level!
From the moment you arrive, the warmth and service orientation by all the staff of the resort is felt.
The lodge is a beautiful huge tent with great views of Ayres Rock.
Food is exceptional at every meal. Menus tailored to personal tastes and food preferences, are outstanding, and even have your name on the menu!
Wines and spirits are premium selections, and the generous open bar will satisfy any taste that you may have,
The guided walks accompanied by cocktails, wines and canapes are excellent. Guides are knowledgeable and fun to be around!
The luxury tent (#12) had an unobstructed view of Ayres Rock!
Well appointed with all the amenities you need. We loved the unique swag surprise after Table 131, and were disappointed that it was only prepared on 1 night of our stay.
Table 131 dinner experience is a highlight, not to be missed!
The field of lights was a little disappointing, but is an interesting artistic concept.
The night sky is exceptional, even though the new moon diluted the stars some.
The "spa" is more treatment rooms than a spa experience, although the therapists were good and the treatment enjoyable.
If you're planning a trip to Ayres Rock, and are looking for a true 5 star experience, look no further.
Here the beauty, culture and service all blend into a "no worries" experience!

+1
Perfect place to spend a few days in Uluru.
Luxury at Longitude 131 is matched only by the beauty of its surroundings.
An amazing experience from start to finish. While some establishments offer superficial luxury as a tagline to attract customers, Longitude 131 delivers a true crafted and elegant stay without that ‘if it’s expensive it has to be good’ attitude.
Truly magnificent in every aspect.
The good:
• Where to begin… Longitude 131 allows you to visit Uluru (a somewhat harsh environment in terms of heat and terrain) in total luxury.
• Amazing food and top shelf bar – all inclusive.
• Impeccable staff. They’ll tend to your every need without being oversolicitous.
• Hotel is clean and impeccable with modern amenities without being a distraction to its surroundings.
• Outdoor dinner under the clearest sky you might ever experience, with great food and drink.
• An amazing way to see the outback. Hotel is part of nature as opposed to squatting on it.
• Hotel plans daily activities for you, and reviews them with you upon arrival.
• Just about everything else.
The bad:
• None.
Advice:
• There is more to do in Uluru than just stare at the ‘rock’.
• Rooms have different views of the rock, so ask the hotel at time of booking.
• Do a helicopter tour. Not terribly expensive, modern helicopters with amazing things to see from the air (not just Uluru).
• Wear sunscreen and hydrate! Everything you need is provided by the hotel (head nets for bugs, sunscreen, water…). Flies can be a nuisance when out but they don’t bite and their numbers vary (some days no flies).
• You are out in the wild, and may see camels and other wild animals.
• Activities other than those included are available (helicopter, private tour…).
• Not a cheap experience, but quality comes at a price. This is a truly unique thing to do.

Dear Christopher, We appreciate you taking the time to provide such a positive feedback about your recent stay at Longitude 131. We are grateful to hear that you had an unforgettable experience with us and that our lodge and stunning surroundings exceeded your expectations. We take great pride in providing a well refined and exquisite experience, and we are happy that our all-inclusive food and beverage selections, staff, and contemporary amenities helped make lifetime memories including table 131. There’s nothing quite like fine dining underneath the outback sky! I appreciate you giving prospective visitors advise, especially the instruction to wear sunscreen and hydrate. And we agree, there is nothing quite like a heli ride over the Red Centre to experience the breathtaking scenery from above. We value your opinions and look forwards to having you visit Longitude 131 again soon. Best Regards Team Longitude

My wife and I have just returned from a three night stay at Longitude 131. From the moment we were greeted at the airport by Adam, we were made to feel like the most important people in the world. On our way to the lodge, we were informed that we were the only guests staying at the lodge. This proved to set us up for a truly memorable experience. Having an entire staff focused purely on us was simply amazing. Each staff member was outstanding and catered to our every need. We were lucky to have private tours wherever we went. Our guides Brogan and Richard were both incredibly knowledgable and engaging plus they were happy to adjust the tours to accomodate our preferences. The service from the staff in the main lodge was 5 stars. Dora and Dennis could not do enough for us and the lodge manager Ben was super friendly and always greeted us with a big smile. The rooms were beautifully presented and the beds were so comfortable. There is so much to love about this place but the food is what really sets it apart. The chef, Ryan is nothing short of a magician and every dish he produced was just superb. The restaurant manager Brydie ensured that we never wanted for anything and her cocktail making skills were exceptional. We really could not fault anything about our experience at Longitude and we would highly recommend a visit to this fantastic place for anyone who appreciates fine dining, unsurpassed service and incredible locations. Thank you to Ben and his amazing team for making our stay so memorable.
