And not much more. Location is good enough, hostel is run down and very basic. The swimming pool looks putrid, and hostel was pretty noisy (from drunken backpackers). I didn't want to use the kitchen. Reception staff helpful enough on tours/ getting around Darwin, and getting out of the hostel is clearly the best thing to do

I spent one night in a 4 bed dorm. I woke the next morning to find over 150 bed bug bites all over my body! I highlighted this to the staff on checkout who said they'd had the room cleaned four days earlier. But then followed with "bed bugs like clean rooms!" My home is clean but free of bed...

Paid $80 for a private room. The first had unmade beds. Back to the office. The second one had a screaming smoke alarm and broken aircon. Back to the office. 1/2 an hour after we paid and got our keys we were still sitting outside while our room was "fixed" and upon asking for a refund were told "You have...

Wow this was definitely the worst experience I've ever had with hostels. I arrived in Darwin with no accommodation booked which was a bad mistake seeing as how it was peak season at the beginning of June. Elke's was the only choice so I decided to stay here due to no other option. There were a few long termers staying...

Darwin was fully booked as public holiday weekend, ended up staying here 1 night. $80 for a single room, should have paid the extra and gone to a hotel, room was OK but the shared bathroom and toilet were an absolute disgrace. By the signs outside the front of the hostel looks like it will soon be an apartment block.......

I booked for one night in a private room. The room was fairly clean but had a really bad smell to it. The hostel was generally very dirty and the toilets were disgusting. Would no recommend staying here. Too expensive for what you get.

My first impression was really bad because the staff was unfriendly and really strict on time schedules. I spend one week in a dorm room with nice people, both staying long-term and short term. We had good aircon, one fridge for the 6 of us and enough space to store your bags although no shelves. The kitchen is really basic...

Can't remember the last time I've been treated like this. People that run this place are depressing. Comments are true what is written about it. Go look for another place. There are many more places you can stay and have normal customer service and kitchen and wifi without creditcard. And less cockroaches

We arrived 2pm and reception was already closed. It also meant that its not possible to do laundry anymore. Laundry hours are only when reception is opened. Ok, we rang the bell and someone gave us keys. No maps no any information where are facilities like kitchen, showers, etc. Room is really filthy, noone is cleaning the floors, fridges. If...

Dingy room more like a prison cell. Bed bug infestation is one thing, but appearing not to care, and failing to pass the message on to day staff (we were out from 6am to 8pm) is really poor customer service. The whole place is shabby and not looked after very well. The hostel over the road is similarly priced and...
