Eskdale House is an ideal place for us to stay while in Brisbane. it is located within a leisurely walk or short bus ride to the city and is close to many restaurants. The b&b is comfortably and attractively furnished and has great beds. The host is generous and congenial, helpful with bus timetables and maps; and provides a wonderful,...

I stayed at Eskdale for a week, after moving to Brisbane from the UK. The B&B is very nice and has a homely feel to it, and it's in a great location for doing things in Brisbane. The West End is a good place to stay, you're close enough to the city and South Bank is just down the road....

A simple but very comfortable b&b in a great location. The breakfasts were simple (yogurt, fruit, cereal, toast) but ample. Not spotlessly clean, but certainly clean enough; comfortable furniture rather than scared-to-touch antiques and clutter. I was in town for a conference, and the walk to the convention center was short and pleasant, as was walking to the West End,...

My friend and I stayed two nights with Paul at Eskdale at the beginning of Dec 2012. Rooms were clean, spacious and homely. We were given keys to come and go as we pleased and access to the kitchen to cook. Shared bathrooms were great and the breakfast on the veranda was superb! Thanks Paul.

I can't say enough good things about this place and Paul, the host. My room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The entire house had a cozy, home-away-from-home feeling. The bathrooms were impeccably clean, as were the kitchen and dining room. The living room invites one to read a good book or two (plenty of books and magazines already there, in...

David Malouf in his novel Jonno wrote... “Brisbane is so sleepy, so slatternly, so sprawlingly unlovely… It is simply the most ordinary place in the world…It was so shabby and makeshift … a place where poetry could never occur.” He obviously did not stay at Eskdale Bed & Breakfast, close to restaurants and cafes in West End and a short...

Professional, efficient and homely. Host Paul, gave us all we needed. He was there when needed for inf and directions and was in his own space , giving us ours... a perfect mix. We would love to call Eskdale our base but we do not venture to Brisbane as much as we would like. Close to South Bank and it...
