I am in my 30's and never stayed in a hostel before. Definitely wasn't looking for a party house. The hostel was social, but not rowdy. No complaints there. There was a good mix of all age groups. The security was good and we felt safe. The rooms were basic, but clean and modern. My friend and I stayed in...

This YHA is great! Very helpful friendly staff, a rooftop pool and sundeck with incredible river views, massive kitchen and dining areas. It was an easy 15 minute walk into the heart of the city, or 20 minute walk to South Bank parklands. I would definitely recommend this hostel

Very close to city center (10 minute walk) and transport interchange. Great for events and Friday night city life. If you're going to lose something, do it at YHA Brisvegas! Lost my favourite (with sentimental value) pearl earring down the handbasin drain on my recent visit. I mentioned this to Nina at Reception when I checked out - who could...

YHA Brisbane was a pleasant temporary home on my trip in Australia. The statt is very friendly, the rooms and facilities well-maintaned and clean, the rooftop terrace is breathtaking and most important of all the people are outgoing and happy to share their stories. If your are looking for the backpacker spirit- you won't be disappointed.

Hostel is just a 10 min walk from Roma St transport hub. Friendly and helpful reception staff (can aid booking trips). Activities each day (thanks to Sydney !) such as bowling night, BBQ night (Go for the amazing Kangaroo steaks !), Saturday market walk. Rooftop area providing great view across the city and south bank area, includes pool and plentiful...

He delt with a tricky situation brilliantly for me, and is the reason why I prolonged my stay here!! He has restored my faith in hostels!! So will be staying at...

We stayed here over the New Year period, and the rooftop provided an excellent view of the fireworks. The staff were really helpful on arrival and throughout the stay. The room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed in comparison to many other hostels. The kitchen was very large, but needed to be given the number of people staying there. Others have...

Staff on reception were friendly and helpful on arrival. The hostel complex is huge and has plenty of communal areas, a huge kitchen which almost never feels too busy and the rooftop pool which is ridiculously relaxing. Rooms were also good with comfortable beds, power sockets inside lockers, air conditioning and lots of space. The negatives were the train track...

I really enjoyed my stay at the YHA but you definitely cannot afford it on a backpacker budget. I paid twice as much a night at the YHA for what I was paying at another nearby hostel, but the facilities are really good there. The roof terrace has a great view of the city, a nice pool and the dorm...

The freakingly loud commuter trains run right outside the hostel's bedroom windows. Upper Roma is a short walk from the Brisbane Transit Centre and lined with half a dozen other hostels. YHA charges for wifi but one can just walk 15 minutes to the State Library to get onto the internet for free there. The backpackers are still cooking late...
