We stayed at this hotel on a tour company package and couldn't have been happier with our room and the service at the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable and the balcony was fantastic - early morning cuppas (in sunglasses due to brightness of the sun) and very comfortable end of day wines watching the cruise boats coming back from their day trips. The room was made up daily and cups and glasses replaced and milk, sugar etc refilled. The view was beautiful from our room on the fifteenth floor. We stayed in a King Harbour View room and would recommend a room like this every time. The hotel was looking a little dated in places, especially the carpet in the corridor outside our room but renovations/refurbishments are under way so I guess in time all will be fixed. The eye boggling 'old style' grand lobby of this hotel is worth a visit just for itself. Lovely staff, good meals, all in all a really pleasant experience. We had five nights and were sorry we hadn't booked a couple more. The only glitch for me was my phone could not scan the QR code to see the menu. It shouldn't be that hard to provide a written menu in the room. I'm assuming because of covid they are only doing sit down dinner in the dining room on Friday and Saturday nights but you can get room service.Dining room is open for breakfast daily. Apparently they do a really good high tea too but our timing didn't match the designated days. The hotel is only a short walk from the harbour esplanade and the cruise wharves and lots of cafes/restaurants close by. The casino is across the road if you're that way inclined. Happily recommend a stay here.

Our one night stay was pleasant and the staff were very friendly. Our one problem was the pillows: they were too high and firm, and I used a folded towel instead to avoid getting a stiff neck. Perhaps this will be fixed when new bedding is provided after the current renovations. We had intended to dine at Coco's restaurant but it was booked out.

Very pleasant check in and again on our departure by Andre. Room on the 12th floor was pleasant and a great balcony. Hotel is currently having a refurbishment, but only during daytime and no real inconvenience. Pool available opposite at Pullman Casino if you need. Breakfast a la carte, due to COVID, good selection and very enjoyable on both days. Great coffee and staff at breakfast were very happy friendly people, very accommodating and enjoying their day. Some recent reviews were negative l would take with a “ grain of salt” we had nothing to complain about, I would imagine they had paid a fair price for what they got . Hotel will be amazing once refurbished, and look forward to visiting again once completed.

We liked our spacious room with great views of the Marina. Bathroom was a generous size and a big balcony was an added bonus. However, improvements are required and paramount. Checking in system- I have received an invitation to check in online and I did. However, when we arrived we still had to stand in a queue and were asked for our proof of identity and an imprint of our credit card . So what was the point of checking in online? Breakfast - We prepaid for ours. No Buffett, ok, I do not mind being served. However, the choices were so limiting, I struggled to choose anything. The menu was bland and uninspiring, we would be better served by going to a cafe around the corner . Pls bring the Buffett back. Pool - It’s just too cold! With the upcoming renovations, pls consider installing heaters to heat the pool. Otherwise, no one will be using it. This is one of the main complains I hear from many fellow travellers - pools are just too cold. Regardless, of few minor annoyances, I would still highly recommend Pullman International.

Check in/ Check out was simple, reception staff were friendly and efficient throughout our stay. Thanks to Vivian for making everything seamless and smooth! That's where the relaxing "5 Star" holiday ends unfortunately. The hotel itself is just worn right out. There's no other way to say it. They are on the brink of refurbishment- but in my opinion, their rates should reflect what they are offering- not what they hope to one day provide their guests. If you choose to pay more for a sea view room (which when in Cairns is highly recommended)- be aware that you may end up with merely a peek! I actually had a little giggle when I saw my "harbor view". Overall, everything in the room is scratched, stained, peeling or mouldy. Hpwever, the sheets and pillows were lovely and the blockout curtains were a blessing come sun up. You'll find yourself wanting to cancel all your plans for the day to sleep in- because you aren't getting a decent night sleep in this hotel! The walls are incredibly thin, the thumping from music outside, the screaming of drunks or worse, the traffic rumbling by (even 10 floors up- its unbearable until around 1am. That is to say, unless your neighbours come home trashed from the casino- you will hear EVERY word and EVERY move they make. The bathroom was clean- but dont expect robes, slippers, extras- this is not 5 star Also, all the reviews about the pool deck are accurate- you will need shoes to avoid splinters or falling through the decking. Finally, do yourself a favor and avoid the breakfasts at Coco's - there are MUCH better places in town that know how to cook an egg.
