Great location, right in the middle of town. Free breakfast every morning was good. Nice views from the balcony. Room was comfortable but basic but that's what I was after just somewhere clean and tidy to sleep. Friendly staff.

Arrived for a short week at the end of October, and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and the relaxed atmosphere. Loved sitting on the veranda, people watching air con was fantastic, thank goodness as it was so hot. We enjoyed the area, easy to get anywhere from this Heritage hotel which was a great landmark. As...

Our room 86 was by far the worse room I have ever seen. For $77 a night I didn't expect a luxury hotel but the bed was boed and was falling apart and the wood was rotting it was disgusting we complained and got upgraded to a room which is usually charged a $90 a night. It still had stains...

This place is great. In the middle of the city. Five mins walk to the esplanade. Remember the hotel is 3 & 1/2 star, and that is what you get. But... for this it is very clean, the staff are very nice. The room was immaculate, large, clean, and had great air con. The only reason this hotel is 3...

We stayed here twice in 2004 loved it! Couldnt wait to go back even though people had some negative reviews. Well unfortunately the bad reviews are correct. The place REALLY REALLY needs a face lift. It is pretty run down and it is very sad. It looks like that building has been there for a very long time and some...

If you are expecting a 4 or 5 start hotel do not stay here. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We stayed in the superior room which had its own bathroom and toliet was on the 2nd floor so heard not noise from outside at all. The best part about this hotel is its location which is right...

Old hotel in need of some upkeep and repairs. Room was basic, windows frosted and locked so you cant open or see put. They charge alot for internet that was so slow it was basically unusuable. Safe in room required a key, for which they also charge. Good location, but we would stay elsewhere next time.

Yes, this is a quirky, old hotel. I chose to stay here the night before a 5:30 am flight to Brisbane (I was in Port Douglas, an hour away). It has an excellent location, near so many restaurants, bars, etc. I did not have much time to explore, but did walk to the Red Ochre restaurant for dinner after I...
