Hello! I think you can smoke on the balcony as there was an ashtray on ours. Our room was overlooking The Old Cemetery; a patch of open ground with shrubs, trees, birds and other interesting wildlife. We had a little newt/lizard living under our upturned ashtray. It used the cigarette rest cutout as a tiny door!
