Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for one night and loved it.
The staff at reception were really friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and easy.
Our room was on the 12th floor and overlooked the Adelaide hills. The room was clean, neat and well presented. The bathroom was well equipped and had everything we needed for our night in the city. We did not use the pool or restaurant area but plan to do so when we return to this hotel.

We stayed overnight on the Monday before the Australia Day holiday.
Before I rattle on about the bad things, just like to say the staff were all magnificent. Very helpful and friendly.
Upon checking in we were informed that the Dining Room was already fully booked. Forgot that Monday is the day many restaurants shut in Adelaide!
We did get a late checkout (Midday) and a free drink from the bar.
The reception is on the 10th floor which is weird. The ground floor does have a concierge and disability access although these are at the side of the building and easily missed! Having reception on floor 10 causes issues with the lifts! They are always busy. Even without Covid restrictions.
On the same floor as reception is the dining room, bar, business suite, gym and pool.
Pool is okay although the glass safety door had been removed so anyone could access. (Thought this was illegal in Australia)
There is outside seating between the bar and the pool, however it is not covered from the weather so is very exposed to
the elements. On a nice day you do have a lovely view on the hills. Pity about the monstrosity being built next door!
The Gym is of a good size and with the latest equipment. 2 bikes 2 treadmills, 2 cross trainers, free weights, multi weight station. Compared to some other hotels this was very good.
The bar area is very small. It needs to be twice the size. It is very noisy and there is no privacy. As above you can access outside and the pool from the bar. The bar itself is very small. Constant queues!!
The business area was disappointing. It is situated between the bar and reception and therefore is also very noisy, with the overflow of the bar. No privacy at all. If you need to work best do it in your room.
The Dining room is the best part of the hotel with great views a seperate bar (the other bar should be this size)
A great outside dining area.
We had breakfast there which was not included in the room stay. Found it very over priced. If you want breakfast try the in-room breakfast options they are cheaper than the restaurant!
We stayed in a deluxe superior room. Which was deluxe and superior in name only! The windows are filthy! The decor basic. Bed was comfy although they insist on giant pillows! There were weird trays in the room that served little purpose!
The bathroom had soap and shampoo dispensers (made you feel like a Travelodge)
Would we stay here again? Only to use the gym! So probably not! Rather a disappointing stay!

This IHG hotel was opened in November 2020, and in April it still felt and smelt ‘new’. The hotel occupies the lower 20 floors of an approximately 35-level high rise in the east end of the CBD. Our arrival by car could have been smoother, as we were unsure how to proceed; cars are parked in the car park adjacent, and although there is a concierge desk on the ground floor, our reception was processed on level 10. There are three room tiers - the basic and second tier are located on the levels below reception, and the top tier rooms are on levels 11 to 20. From the higher floors the views are spectacular, with floor to ceiling windows, although ours still showed signs of a relatively recent severe dust storm that hit the city. Building works were occurring on a high rise adjacent, but the noise was not excessive; however, some rooms likely had their view impeded. It was pleasant to stay at a hotel where the reality of COVID was not in our face all the time. It was only at weekend breakfast, with an assisted buffet, that we noticed anything ‘different’. We actually enjoyed choosing food from the hot and cold choices, and having it served by staff. On week days breakfast is served a la carte. We found all staff with whom we interacted to be friendly and eager to assist. Our room was serviced daily. The bed was very comfortable. This hotel is a great addition to Adelaide’s offering of hotels at the upper end of the market.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a positive and detailed review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Crowne Plaza Adelaide. It is now becoming common place for reception to be on a higher level than the ground floor. Although it can be confusing at first, it has its advantages especially in times where social distancing is required for the safety of our guests, staff and community. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next stay at Crowne Plaza Adelaide.

Booked a 6night stay in a "Junior Suite" attending a conference. 18th floor corner room spectacular view of Adelaide and some stunning sunrise/sunsets spoiled by dirty windows.
But … arrival and checkin was ridiculous, one person on front desk and a queue of 8 people squashed into the check in area until another two staff arrived. Check in was 20 minutes. Dinner in Koomo (sales and marketed as Adelaide's highest and best Japanese restaurant). I've seen more appropriate lighting in a 7-Eleven! #blindedbythelight Uncomfortable and noisy. (the food was ok).
The room was sparsely furnished and I even asked if there was a lounge or lounge chairs missing from the suite. After dinner they had provided a small yellow ottoman.
A business trip there were none of the necessities I require as a business traveller: no desk light, no power points anywhere near the desk. Not enough power points in the room. Uncomfortable seating and two small ottomans. More of a creche/play room than a Junior Suits. The curtains didn't provide full block out.
Tip: phone and clock radio are linked so one won't work without the other. No phone for room service so called from my mobile, they mush have been busy because no one answered on two occasions. Requested plate and knife for some cheese on another occasion - it never turned up. The coffee cups in room still have the price stickers half removed on them and are suitable for coffee but not tea (they don't have mugs apparently in the hotel so I was thrilled to have Keep Cup as a bonus from the conference I attended. Overall the room and its contents look like they were purchased from Kmart or another budget store. Bed was hard and the most uncomfortable pillows ever.
Everything on the room service menu is over priced (what's new) and mostly from the restaurant menu. The lifts are slow so allow extra time if you're booking an Uber from your room.
Overall I'm sad to say this is one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in years and not what I expect from an IHG/Crowne Plaza property.
I rate housekeeping for their friendliness and a job well done but definitely will not be staying at this hotel again.

Dear gtoh69, Thank you for posting a review of your stay and sharing your experience at Crowne Plaza Adelaide. I am disapointed to read that we did not meet all expectations of your stay. We often receive very positive reviews of our restaurant, with the ambiance, the view and the food a selling point for very good reason. I hope that you choose to return so we may have the chance to provide you with the experience we strive for at Koomo. Crowne Plaza Adelaide was a place created for the modern business traveller, so to read that we did not deliver during your stay is disappointing. I was surprised to learn that there was not a phone in your room, or that you were not made aware of our MyCheck ordering system via a QR code in the room. Please rest assured that we are addressing the issues you encountered and will take the steps necessary to ensure your experience remains an isolated incident. We sincerely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again to our hotel. Regards, Sarah Goldfinch

I write this in the hope that management will look at this as constructive criticism.
Firstly having check in on the 10th floor where there is no room for people to wait in a non covid safe line for 45 minutes is a big mistake. the line snaked past lifts entrances, tight corridors and people were on top of each other. Bad first impression.
Our room on the 12th floor was a corner room with great views although it overlooked a construction site and with floor to ceiling windows this might be a bit of a put off for those wanting a bit of privacy.
The TV was huge for the size of the room and offered chromecast which was good to be able to watch any paid subscripts you have from you ipad/laptop. Unfortunately we then couldn't get it to turn off with the remote, so had to set the sleep timer for it to automatically turn off.
We also had some issues with the lighting turning off unexpectedly. Using the 3 bedside switches to turn them back on resulted in the switches "changing functions", so there seems to be some sort of gremlin in the electrical.
There was only 1 chair in the room and it took housekeeping 45 mintues to bring another on so that we diddn't have to sit on the bed.
There was a coffee maker but if you wanted more than 1 coffee each, I'm not sure what you would do. There was also only 1 black tea bag, so we had to share that one for our early morning tea.
Although we had to leave a $50 c/Card deposit in case we used the minibar, the minibar was empty, except for some UHT milk, so.....?
The toilet seat in our room was broken, so sitting was a bit risky - especially in the middle of the night.
Other than that, the hotel was in a great location with many good restaurants and shopping in the local area. There was also a tram/bus route almost outside.
The bed was very comfortable but as a previous person said - no top sheet, so it was either doona or nothing which is a bit uncomfortable when you dont have the air con on because even with it turned up it blew cold air straight on to you.
We didn't try the restaurant at all so cannot comment on that.
This could be a very nice hotel to stay in, but there needs to be a bit of work done to get it up to scratch. Perhaps delay staying there for a while while they get ti all together, or just be happy that you are getting a good deal and overlook the inadequacies.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 days over Easter. The location of the hotel is very good, close to shops and restaurants. The beds were comfortable and clean. The curtains don't close properly on the side, light came in early in the mornings. We were on the 12th floor which was a bit noisy because the bar and pool area is on the 10th floor. For a 4 star hotel at the price we had paid if was disappointing that coffee, tea, sugar and milk is not complimentary every morning. They only supply these once on the first day of your stay and no, I am not talking about speciality coffee. The dirty towels were never replaced as well as the bath mat. We used some of the hand towels for the floor. Bath soap container was empty in the shower, we had to phone reception to request it to be replaced. We did not use room service and the restaurant because it was extremely pricey and had no 'normal food options' only excotic options which is not everyones choice. The pool area is nice, but not very big. We could not find a spot to sit and relax at the pool. We will unfortunately not stay at this hotel again.

Dear Christine C, Thank you for sharing your experience on Tripadvisor so I can learn from your experience and respond to some of your observations; amenities in the room such as tea, coffee and sugar should be replaced daily. We will also replace towels daily, unless you have left them hanging, therefore opting to reuse, as an environmentally friendly practice we offer. Your feedback has been shared with the team to this remains an isolated experience. I'm disappointed to read that them menu items on offer at our hotel were not your ideal preference. While we do offer a focused cuisine at Koomo, as a Crowne Plaza hotel we also offer classic meals as a standard. Should you wish to return to our hotel to try the food, I am sure we could provide a meal you would enjoy. I sincerely hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to our hotel. Kind regards, Sarah Goldfinch

We stayed 1 night at the new Crowne Plaza mid week with our State voucher.
Apon arrival we were greated and offered a parking card. It wasn't specified which parking garage to go to so we went directly across the road to the Upark as we didn't realise there was another one. Big mistake, entry isn't based on 24hrs its up to midnight, so don't park in Upark.
Reception/check in is on the 10th floor this was quite a novelty, during covid times this area is not the best because if a few people are waiting to check in their is no social distancing.
Unsure why there is so much space on the ground floor, this should be utilised during these times.
The room and facilities were very modern and nice. Construction next door doesn't make the pool very private unfortunately.
Our room was on the 7th floor, you need your room key to activate the floor number, this would be great for security although due to reception being on 10th if anyone else is in the lift checking in they too have access to the floors if you have activated them.
In the room it has little cards stating what is in the mini bar although there was nothing except water and milk for coffee. In the bathroom the card said the toiletries included but nothing was provided except for the normal soap, cream & shampoo etc.
Information on the TV was great plus the use of Chromecast and wireless charger clock/radio station.
The bed was comfy although 100% not a fan of a bed without a sheet. There needs to be a barrier between you and the quilt.
Breakfast was included in our stay which was very nice although the pieces of paper that stated what we ordered need to be placed under the plate when it is waiting to be delivered, not under the food.

Finally getting to experience this wonderful new property, in the heart of Adelaide east end. Location is ideal, just off of Rundle St with its variety of cuisines to choose from, bars and pubs.
For shopping, Rundle Mall is less then a 10min walk away, the zoo is a 20min or a 10min taxi ride, Adelaide University is less then 10min walk away and the wine centre is a 10-15min walk or 5min taxi ride.
Adelaide Casino and festival theatre is 15-20min walk, 10min taxi or take the free tram along north Tce. Make your way to the University Stop and get on the tram heading to the Entertainment centre and get off at Adelaide Railway. This is where you get off to head to world renowned Adelaide Oval and Memorial Drive.
Reception is located on Level 10, which also has the pool, gym, Luna Bar and Komo Restaurant which is a modern Japanese restaurant. Komo is also the location for breakfast and is open for lunch as well as dinner. The key card is wood based. Looks and feels amazing.
The Executive Suite is a beautiful space, with a lovely lounge/chaser over looking the north of Adelaide with views of Adelaide oval and St.Vincent Gulf. If you are a plane buff, you’ll be able to see a few plans either arriving or departing on their flight path. Complimentary coffee, pod machine, and amazing shower amenities provided by Antipodes. Mini bar can be filled on request, as per covid procedures. Standard free to air TV channels or you can log in with your device for Google Chromecast. I always dislike when there isn’t enough coat hangers, but there is plenty here to hang it clothes, as well as iron and ironing board. In room safe and slippers.
King size bed with king size pillows. The bed was comfortable and the quilt and linen where fresh. A very comfortable sleep, with the air con on at the right temperature for me, was perfect.
For shopping, Rundle Mall is less then a 10min walk away, the zoo is a 20min or a 10min taxi ride, Adelaide University is less then 10min walk away and the wine centre is a 10-15min walk or 5min taxi ride.

Very disappointed with our stay here, such a shame as we expected better. The welcome video said they understood how important it was to make a good first impression yet this wasn't displayed through their actions. We stayed one night & felt very frustrated by the fact that whilst having a shower discovered that the body wash was virtually empty. At first we thought it was a problem with the pump. All of the pump bottles in the shower and vanity are locked in place so we couldn't even swap the bottle from the vanity. When we checked out that same morning and mentioned it to the front desk staff whilst the staff member apologised she then went on to say that she would make a note to let housekeeping know. Replenishing the toiletries I would expect ought to be standard procedure when servicing a room. What made it even worse was she then went on to offer us to take a bottle of body wash home!
When the issue was escalated to the duty manager his response was if we had rung reception someone they would have bought another bottle to our room. The whole scenario should never happen and offering a complimentary cup of coffee just added insult even more. There is a serious lack of training in this establishment at all levels.

Had a 2 night stay over the weekend. Hotel was nice and clean (obviously a new hotel).
We were looking forward to sitting by the pool and chilling but although despite the windy weather it was near impossible to obtain a lounger as they all had towels on, finally got a lounger on the Monday morning but didn’t sit there long as the noises of banging and drilling from the next building was unbearable.
There was no housekeeping for stays less than 3 days (maybe a COVID) rule so had to phone service to ask for teabags. We asked for clean cups/mugs and staff were quite rude and we never received them. Not big issues but we expect better service from a smart hotel especially when staying in the executive suite.
We booked through the 50% off deal so value was okay, would have been really disappointed if we’d paid full price.
Clean hotel, great location, very quiet (we were on 14th floor) disappointing service.

There is breakfast which is more buffet with omelette, egg selection based on preference but don't expect anything elaborate. I have preference for breakfast out of hotel an local cafes and the like.
Sorry we do not have self service laundry in the hotel. We do have daily dry cleaning and laundry services through a local supplier
