Detailed Reviews
Stayed on a Saturday night after booking online with Booking.com. Easy drive from country SA. Nice parking space behind building. Received a text Msg at 2pm with code to enter the premises (due to Covid, no staff on premises). Few minutes later another Txt with instructions how to get to my allocated room with another code to enter. Room was large, clean and has windows that open to a closed courtyard, with block out curtains. Able to adjust air conditioning. Perfect soft queen bed, a few side tables, fridge, kettle, etc. Clear reception from TV. Clean bathroom with large walk in shower. Great night sleep, as no noise from street or other guests. Bus stop across the road to get into town. Coffee shops and restaurants all in walking distance. Taxi ride back from East Tce costs $15 on the Sunday. Will certainly stay here again when in Adelaide.

Response from Michelle Davis, Marketing at Quality Inn O'Connell
Responded 9 Nov 2020
Thank you for taking the time to provide such a detailed review. We will share your feedback with our team to motivate and encourage continued development and care for our guests. We recommend booking direct so that way, we can leave a note on your file to allocate your room around the internal courtyard (or note your favorite room). We price match online rates and subject to availability upgrade those that book direct. We are pleased you noticed the new beds, modern bathroom with awesome showers and found security access codes easy to use. The location in North Adelaide means everything you need is in walking distance, we are glad you could take advantage of what O'Connell Street has to offer. We have lots planned for Quality Inn O'Connell and we look forward to welcoming you back. Thank you for supporting South Australian owned business; drive safely.

The hotel is awesome. We loved the fact that the check in process was so easy. We like the fact that it’s with a code to check in so no stress about losing hotel cards or keys. The carpark was so close to the elevator which was awesome. The room has everything you need and we loved the large shower.
The bed was super super comfy. And hooray a Hotel that leaves you plenty of towels. The staff are super friendly and the cleaning ladies were too. We loved that we were so close to the city and that we also could leave the car at the Hotel and stroll up O’Connell street for a bite to eat with many restaurants and cafes. We will definitely be back.

Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was super comfy and the level of cleanliness was absolutely outstanding.
Especially I would love to thank Paul! We had a long drive from Sydney to Adelaide, we only came for a few hours to get some rest before heading back. Paul was so understanding, professional, he went beyond and above to meet our requests, he demonstrated superb customer service skills. An absolute asset to the company!
Thank you so much for our amazing experience, I will not hesitate to stay here again. Moreover, I will definitely recommend the place to all of my friends.

+1
This is one of those hotels that looks great online and rubbish in reality.
The hotel has a complicated 2 code check in, the room is old and is in desperate need of an upgrade, the sofa feels dirty and is badly marked... yuk
Forget this place, many other options in the same area

Good value for money in an area full of cafes and restaurants. Although there is a busy road at the front of the property, the noise is quite subdued. The bathrooms are quite new and the airconditioning works well. Limited parking available.

No personal contact with staff, car vandalized in car park -not ours, drunk/unconcious man in stairwell. Well appointed room, comfortable bed, very clean, quiet placement, near to eateries. Newly refurbished.

Booked a family room for 3 adults for 3 nights over the weekend and when we arrived found the reception area completely deserted. A sign said we should enter the restaurant where the manager would be working. There was very loud music and only one table being occupied but still the manager took about 5 minutes to come to reception to check us in. After he made several jokes about our surnames he gave us keys for room 108 on the first floor. When we got there we were overpowered by the smell of cigarette smoke and realised he had given us a smoking room. The window was set to open about 2 inches so we could not let any more fresh air in. We tried to change rooms but the manager claimed to have no more non-smoking rooms which would accommodate 3 people.
When we asked if we could cancel and try somewhere else the manager became quite nasty and defensive and said it was our fault because we did not specify a non-smoking room. He said we could not cancel and would have to pay the first night's accommodation as 24 hours notice was required.
After enduring the night in the smokiest room on earth with air conditioning which seemed to make it worse we checked out the following morning and will never return.

We have stayed in most of the Motels around North Adelaide, and have finally found the perfect place.
The staff and owners welcome you into the Motel as if it is their home. They have a wonderful rapport with all the guests and you leave with a whole new group of friends, and a desperate need to arrange another trip to stay.
Do yourself a favour and experience hospitality how it should be.
PS Make sure you make time to have the breakfast, it is an brilliant.
