Waratah hotel & pub ('The TAH' by the locals...) is perfectly located close to everything in Hobart and has a good vibe and helpful staff. The room was quite spacy and very clean, with a large shower and nice view of Hobart rooftops (3rd floor). A special bonus for chilly Tassie - electric blankets! :) Complimentary breakfast is continental and...

After racing Sunday morning I returned to my room, showered, then went to check the food options downstairs The Manager mentioned they had fresh, pan-seared snapper with a tomato salsa and potatoes for $20 so I settled for that, enjoying a Coopers Pale Ale [$6] The snapper was more than seared, like it had been baked or kept warm for...

I stayed here with a group of friends during a weekend in Tasmania, and we all had a wonderful time. It's budget accommodation, but the beds were comfortable and it was great to have an ensuite bathroom. The downstairs pub is a nice place to go for a drink. Staff is incredibly friendly, and free breakfast is really always a...

Budget accommodation but meets all needs. Great bars & food, new manager is making a move and enticing new clientele. Great place for blokes (or girls) weekends. Check out the events, Friday's was "toss the boss", we won * free pots on one shout! The TAH is ACE!

First and foremost and in all fairness, this is not a "hotel" as advertised. We were so stupid not to book rooms in Hobart in advance after touring the Grand Circle of Tasmania for 11 days. After a tiring 250 km (5 hours) drive from Strahan (West Coast), we arrived at Hobart at 5pm only to find out there is...

Pillow was brown, bed spread old and smelling stale, towel and mat had brown skid marks and frayed, carpet was gritty, shower had chunks of mould, shower curtain mouldy, and the toilet housed more pubic hair than what's attached to me, and the toilet brush well come on their a few bucks to replace! Staff was friendly and attempted to...

Hi Simone, Thank you for taking the time to write your review - we value our guests and the feedback they provide. We provide budget accommodation and are well known for our great value and cleanliness. Our single room rate is only $70/night inclusive of an ensuite bathroom and continental breakfast. It is extremely unusual to receive feedback such as...

Popped in here for the first time for a meal and we were stunned to see the joint nearly empty. And that meant a bit of a dull atmosphere. The decor is great in the beer garden, but the dining area - not so much. Food was good, though, and served fast thanks to the lack of patrons. Perhaps it's...

This is a combined backpackers, private rooms and pub. There is a function area downstairs, which is also a restaurant, along with a front bar and a back area for bands. We had a private double room with ensuite. The interior and furnishings are dated, but the room came with a comfy bed and a TV. There was also a...
