The hotel is in a heritage listed building The rooms are large and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The foyer and dining area are newly renovated and the rooms are to be given a birthday over the next 12 months. Great location to the city centre

Very impressed with the hotel. The owners Nicole and Paul couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Wonderful central location close to markets and wharf area. Our room was apparently due for renovation but still was very clean and had a new comfortable mattress. Very pleasantly surprised by the delicious continental breakfast served in the impressively renovated lounge.

Quaint place, with lots of lovely art, building is heritage listed. Rooms were spacious, well appointed and quiet. Good continental breakfast was made available. Wifi was free and available, but a bit slow. Very gracious in allowing us to keep our luggage there between two stays. Only downside is if you're arriving outside the hours that the front desk is...

Macquarie Manor is a converted and beautiful old house a few blocks from Salamanca place and the heart of Hobart. However for the price it could offer much more. The rooms have clearly been converted from their original size (ours was very large) but no thought had gone into the bathroom which was mean and pokey. The shower took at...

We weren't impressed and when we returned to Hobart a couple weeks later, we booked a different hotel and were much happier elsewhere. The room was large, clean, comfortable, and attractive. That's what earned the two stars. However, here were the issues that we encountered. 1) After flying across the world, 4 flights, we arrived exhausted and really wanted our...

We didn't have a bad stay at MacQuarie Manor, but felt there was definitely some room for improvement. The hall and bar area have been renovated and are quite stylish. Nice area to relax however no food service and drinks are quite pricey. The rooms are very tired and don't reflect the ambience created in the rest of the hotel....

This was our second stay at Macquarie Manor and both times we've had a pleasant stay. They had renovated since the last time and we were impressed with the updates. We had a room on the top floor which was clean, quiet and comfortable. The girl at reception was friendly, helpful and genuine, so nice to see. We will definitely...

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 nights at Macquarie Manor. It is close to Salamanca where all the trendy little bars, restaurants and cafes are. An easy 4min walk. The room was huge and the bathroom was modern as were the bed covers and sheets (pillows like marshmellows - they were so comfy!!). I stayed in rooms 2 and 5, a...

I made a reservation in April for a one night stopover to visit "Tastes of Tassie". The booking included free parking which was a big incentive to book here. On arrival I was advised there was NO free parking but a fee of $15 per night. Even this was unavailable. The options were parking in a parking station up the...
