Having visited this venue on previous occasions and enjoyed each visit this was quite a surprise. The venue was booked for 24 adults and 3 children. Notice was given that one person was allergic to eggs and another had gluten intolerance. Neither of these issues were really accommodated, in fact all the person with gluten intolerance was provided with was...

Rydges Hobart is quite tired and old, but that aside it is great value for money. The beds are comfortable and the location is great in North Hobart if you have a car. Only a 5 minute drive to Salamanca. Overall a good 3 star property with free wifi.

Two visits at each end of our time in Tasmania. Rather strange layout of rooms and a bit dark with wood paneling. Room and bed comfortable. Rooms were outside the main building so access in the rain was not ideal. Plenty of parking but at a bit of a distance from the rooms. 20 - 30 minutes walk from the...

Checked in very late on a Friday night. Friendly and helpful staff. Old room needs updating and a thorough clean. Housekeeping standards need to improve and cleaning standards checked. Beds look crisply made but bottom sheets not straightened just left crumpled from night before and top sheet and quilts all tucked in tightly. In a building of two rooms. Feel...

Very comfortable and friendly and helpful staff. Close to the city. Great to have separate living area. Great breakfast each morning included. Watched the AFL football over the fence. A little bit out of the city at North Hobart.

I decided on the Antique suite not realising it meant not cleaned for a few decades. The bathroom floor was covered in hair and everything felt very grotty. I changed rooms but still wasn't much better.Bathroom floors all cracked, towels grey, drinking glasses filthy, noisy room, shower curtain dirty, the only mirror in the room which is a bathroom mirror is...

Dear SallyJ64, I offer no excuses for the substandard experience - clearly we have dropped the ball in numerous areas and unfortunately this has seriously detracted from a typical experience at Rydges Hobart. We have followed up and investigated the small magnet that was attached to your knife. We have identified the source and addressed the issue to avoid a...

Lovely old hotel, and the room we had was in an annex off the old building. It has charm and character, and it was under $100 a night for a Saturday. It is just out of Hobart, 4-5 minutes in a car, and you could probably walk down into town, but it would be uphill on the way home :-)...

Great location. Service was fine but seriously, they need to fully renovate this place. Rooms are 1970s. Carpet is disgusting. The bathroom fan choked with dust and body fat. Definitely not Ridges standard.

We were excited to be staying at Rydges as we expected quality. Unfortunately this Rydges was old rather than antique. The room we stayed in had dated furniture, the bathroom was in desperate need of an update as it was old, cracked and stained tiles and no exhaust fan. The lounge room had two single, uncomfortable chairs so we couldn't...

Dear Leanne M, It's unfortunate you had a disappointing experience. We have many different room types available so perhaps a different configuration may have lead to a different experience. Yes, our Restaurant is closed on Sunday nights. we do display this information in several areas but unfortunately it has impacted your stay on this occasion. Great to hear you found...

Very pleasant and professional check in and out with Fiona. Fiona is an extremely friendly lady who genuinely is interested in helping you enjoy your stay and providing advice about the hotel as well as enquiring how your day was. Dear Archer_011, It is truly fantastic to hear such great commentary about Fiona. Fiona has been an asset to the hotel for many years and she will be very pleased indeed to receive such wonderful recognition. That said, certainly disappointing to learn that we have dropped the ball in regards to both cleanliness and maintenance. Rest assured we will follow...
