This is a hostel. We had a twin room: 2 beds, light bulb, bedside table. Still, the mattresses are comfortable. The pillows too. The windows open. Bathrooms tend to be wet (never can understand how people get water everywhere) but the water is hot and there is plenty of toilet paper. For $80 per night in the middle of the...

I've stayed in single rooms of backpacker around Australia and this one is by far the worst. The linen was changed as I could smell the bleach but every surface, bed head, locker, small cabinet, window were covered in thick dust and the floor was not vacuumed (full of tiny pieces of rubbish). The guy in the reception was very...

I didn't like staying here because of the vibe of this hostel and it's layout. There aren't enough bathrooms for bedrooms and the looks are broken on some of the bathroom cubicles. The floors of the bathroom are always wet and covered in hair, it's pretty disgusting. The kitchen is fine but small and there isn't enough space in the...

Good wifi connection, lots of sofas and good communal areas. Clean kitchen. Bathroom areas were ample with hot water. Central location to Hobart and beds already made unlike other hostels. Situated right next to a church so Sunday morning church bells were going and creaky floorboards so don't stay here if you want a great night sleep however, for the...

Made a booking on the phoneone a couple of nights before arrival. The woman had double checked with me on the phone that there was 2 people for a private room. Arrived told me they had booked us for a single private room. So they woman behind the desk put us into 4 bed share dorm to make up for...

Dear Hannah, Thank you very much for your comment. We wish we could have upgraded you to a double room without any charges. Unfortunately on that day all the private rooms were fully booked. Therefore we put you two in the 4-bed dorm and blocked the whole dorm for you to make it as a private room. We are sorry...

Do not stay at this hostel if you are in a group of 5 or more or if you want to relax. Yes, the location is great and it has good amenities, but it was ruined for me and my friends. First of all, there are signs everywhere you look about getting fined for this and that, even on the...

I have stayed twice at this perfectly adequate backpackers hostel in central Hobart. It is within walking distance to everyone you need including public transport, shops, and attractions. The staff are friendly, it's relatively clean, it feels quite safe, but it is old. It is also pretty basic, quite the rabbit warren, and NO PLACE for anyone who can't handle...

A friend and I spent a night (Feb 10, 2017) at Imperial Backpacker. After spending several nights at two other backpacker hotels in Hobart, I have to say that the one night I spent here was the most restful one. We stayed at a twin beds room. The room was decent with plenty of space and two lockers and several...

The rudest, impatient owner on earth. Can't believe the way he treated me with no respect no manners. Horrible place. If you want rude and miserable service, book your room here! One dirtiest place on earth. Mind you dorm rate not cheap and Service crap, the owner's attitude stinks! If he was a bit nicer, then it would make a...
