Stayed in many places in Hobart and this remains one of my favourite. Whilst not exactly central, nothing is too far in Hobart. The rooms are a good size and they have done an amazing job on the conversion which has blended the heritage feel and added a contemporary flavour, add the layer of art and you have a classy,...

This really is a beautiful place to stay . Really clever how they have renovated this victorian jam factory into a contemporary hotel . Our room / suite overlooking the quay was a delight with all the mod cons you could wish for. Service varied though from attentive and professional to very laid back breakfast was also a bit of...

Tried breakfast at the lounge and had the continental breakfast option. The bread option was ok, but the other offerings were poor! Especially the fresh fruits, there were watermelon, pineapple, rockmelon and green grapes. They were the worst fruits I have been given at any hotel I stayed. The grapes were old and should have been thrown away. For a...

Stayed here for one night, on a 36 hour visit to Hobart to celebrate my wife's birthday. The good The hotel itself and the public areas are just as descibed in all the reviews - wonderful restoration, interesting art and lots of history. The location is briliant, right on the dock. We ate at The Landscape and it was a...

This is a genuinely high standard boutique hotel in a lovely old sandstone building right on the Hobart docklands waterfront. Rooms are atmospheric, well sized and very well appointed, and are private and quiet. There is an excellent bar downstairs and a very good restaurant, and it is within walking distance of everything good in the docklands/Salamanca area. Concierge and...

No need to look any further for Hobart accomodation, this hotel is excellent. Location is great and the rooms are that brilliant blend of luxury with character. Awesome place. My wife and stayed on a weekend away and it's the perfect spot to explore the city from. Salamanca is about a 5 minute walk, as is the main CBD area....

Lovely rooms which are well equipped. Loved the ground floor bar and special mention to Dylan who know his stuff when it comes to spirits, wines and cocktails. Staff are lovely and well orientated. The front desk staff were excellent and helpful. Love the art works. This Hotel is doing it well.

The PERFECT way to kick off our week away. Great waterfront location. The H Jones Suite is worth the splurge ... It was like stepping back in time. Loved the art, historic staircase, exposed walls and distressed tassie timbers ... Treat yourself to a Moët in the overflow spa before heading out to a seafood dinner at the Drunken Admiral....

Stayed here a couple of nights before setting off on a tour of Tasmania. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, with a courtesy valet for our hire car. We had a second floor, harbour view room which was spacious and well furnished. The hotel describes itself as an "Art hotel" and you can take a tour of its...

The hotel building is great! Most of the staff are friendly. However from checking in to alarms going off in my room at 4.30am nothing seemed to run smoothly. Messages never seemed to go anywhere. I was upgraded then asked to move back out which would be ok but I had just unpacked everything as I was staying for a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Australia's first dedicated art hotel stands proudly on Hobart's glorious waterfront. A handsome row of historic warehouses dating from the 1820s (the former IXL jam factory) have been creatively transformed into an enthralling multi-award winning first class hotel. The hotel itself is a work of art. Here you'll be fascinated by the unexpected combination of the antique and the ultra modern. ... more   less
