All the essentials - none of the unnecessary frills. Nice to have an opening sliding door for fresh air but only noticed before leaving it had been left unlocked. Cooking facilities in the room, but so little space for it that it is basically impractical to cook in the room

Convient location near China Town and trams. Very very noisey from other people staying at the suites, we turned the airconditioner up to try & dull their noise, but that didn't work. Why can't other people be considerate of others? Friendly helpful staff, except at breakfast. Would we stay here again - NO

Working in the North East corner of Melbourne CBD made Fraser Place the ideal location to stay. Room was very clean and spacious, nice verandah. My room deal had breakfast included. Recommend for either business or holiday stay.

The Fraser Place in Melbourne is located recently central just next to Chinatown in the CBD. It is hidden in a small street. The hotel is rather tiny and discrete, with not too many luxury, but still functional. The rooms are small but have what you would expect from this class of hotel. The staff is friendly but not specially...

I stayed here for two nights. Everything was very clean and tidy. Kitchenette met all needs as i only made quick small meals. My room was very quiet but the air con was quite loud at times. This was a small issue though. Location is quite close to China Town and a leisurely stroll to the mall.

I stayed at fraser place for 4 days. The rooms are nice but every morning/night there was so much noise! The noise insulation is very bad and the roomkeeping just doesn't care of how much noise they make in the early morning hours! They shut doors a 100 times, talk very loud in front of the rooms and so on!...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

“Double check the definition of 'balcony' if this is important to you (we didn't need one). Our 'balcony was maybe 10cm deep - a fenced off ledge. However there is a lovely open terrace on the top floor freely accessible to all guests if you want a real balcony experience. ”
