Our agent selected us a "deluxe" room at this hotel, but it is definitely not deluxe and we suggest guests refuse room 103 as it has almost no natural light. We were moved after one night to the 13th floor - much better, but still a small room with nowhere to lay out our cases, only one chair (a hard...

We had enjoyed our 3nights stay with hotel. The hotel is just in the heart of Melbourne CBD next to the China town, you can have anything nearest you. The Vietnamese girl staff is very friendly and we chat a lots about the city and recommendation, definately will stay again next time.

Beautifully appointed accommodation. Able to open windows, which was a plus. King size bed was a luxurious surprise. Quality bedding ensured a peaceful nights rest. Parking arrangements were affordable and close by. Looking forward to a return visit.

It's very simple - I'll save you reading all the other reviews! If rooms at Fraser Place are on special for AU$99 per night then it is good value with a good location, bed and shower. However on my last stay due the hotel being heavily booked my room was almost AU$200 per night and for this price there is...

So stayed here for three nights during a business trip to Melbourne. Location is good, nearby transit and restaurants. Issue I had was the value for the money. Nice rooms, very simple and with a European flare. Biggest issue was their idea of having power savings where you need to take the card out and all power goes out when...

My business partner and I have stayed here separately on a few occasions and every time, no matter who stays there, we leave sick. The air con systems make us cough when turned on. Nice rooms and clan but I won't be staying again.

My wife and I are due to stay at Fraser Place in the coming days. I had taken advantage of the 60 day advance pay rate to save 30%, only to now find that the rates on offer for the same night are cheaper and offer a heap of inclusions in a package for that cheaper rate - e.g. breakfast,...

Dear LadyJanPetersen, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you took the liberty to purchase your accommodation early and locked in an advance purchase. As you would be aware at the time of booking that this is a non-cancelable and non refundable rate. Locking in a rate early on may not always result in a cheaper or more expensive...

Good location - right near Melbourne Central and China town. A few good cafes nearby also. Stayed here with my wife who didn't like the room, though it was very basic for a 4 star lodging, recommends your take your own toilet paper because the TP they provide is "like sandpaper". A few things weren't great about it eg the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
