Has perfect location to explore Melbourne. It's centrally located near Queen Victoria Market, Federation Square and Chinatown. The staff are friendly. The rooms are very clean. It was summer when we went there and we're all staying in a 5-bed dorm with 1 fan only and it was really hot so better prepare or request for an extra fan if...

I had a really mixed experience of this hostel - on one hand it is in a great location, slightly out of the city centre but still really easy to get to the main sights by foot/tram and a very impressive building which was lovely and quirky. The kitchen/dining area is nice and easy to meet others there - but...

On Saturday December 20 we booked in our family to stay in a 6-berth room. We had booked in on the understanding that we had the room to ourselves. When we arrived there were smelly, dirty socks and runners outside the room door, with an even greater mess inside. We attempted to get a refund as the room did not...

Thank you for your review. I have spoken to two members of staff, the first who made your reservation and the second who met you on check-in and it is quite obvious there was a misunderstanding from the start of the booking. You advised our receptionist over the phone you wished to book 4 beds in a 6 bed dorm....

Me and my partner stayed here for a week in September 14. We popped in before booking to have a look around after having some bad experiences in other hostels in Melbourne and it seemed perfect. Very reasonable price for the location - Its not in then heart of the city but it is still within walking distance (or a...

This hostel has a very central location and you can walk to most places in CBD. It's in a very charming old building, and for such an old place it was very clean! Awesome big bathrooms. Nothing wrong with the rooms (except for roommates that brought girls back to the room, but that just depends on who you get in...

This hostels has such a great atmosphere. I didn't really like the kitchen, always went out for food. The cafe / bar tries to be special with other food and drinks (not basic things) but I don't think they really hit it off..The location is o.k, close to the tram stations but If you go by feet it is still...

A lovely building greeted us along with friendly staff. We had a double which was clean and ample for our requirements including TV! Communal bathrooms numerous and were proper bathrooms which was appreciated (top floor). However we found the room rates pricey compared to other cities we had stayed in (incl. Sydney) and it felt like there were a lot...

I was really happy to be in this hostel even just for a night, I wish I could stay longer there. I met very nice people there, they are so friendly. It's always very nice for a hostel to have a social area, you can connect to people easily. The good thing in this hostel is something great everyday in...

I stayed at this hostel for 2 weeks before leaving Melbourne to move to London. I was in a 7 bed dorm. There was plenty of space in the dorm, and lockers(need own padlock). The beds were clean and comfortable, and the room was warm, and well ventilated. The only downside was, due to the age of the building, the...

I booked two nights at Home @ the Mansion and my staying was absolutely amazing. The location is great, in the CBD but out of the traffic: there is a big park (and the Melbourne Museum) just on the other side of Victoria Parade and the free tram (route 35, the Circle City Line) stops right on the corner. The...
