This hotel has such a unique way of personalising your stay by focussing on the little things that count. It was refreshing to find out everything in the mini bar & movies where free, most 5 star hotel do not have this.

My husband and I turned a business trip into a child-free escape. We cannot recommend the Adelphi highly enough. The hotel is great but the wonderful service and the friendliness of the staff is what made our trip truely special.

My wife and I had a very nice stay at Adelphi. The staff was very helpful and the room was well-appointed and clean. The location was very central. A great choice if you don't want to stay at one of the huge hotels nearby.

Lovely quirky hotel with great position and super friendly staff. The rooms are large and spacious. Easy parking next door. Has a handy bar and we enjoyed a great breakfast. We took a gift voucher for our children to enjoy too.

I was unimpressed with the room we stayed in (Comfy King at $405 a night), at that price I expected touches of luxury and there was nothing like this. Location is fantastic, staff were very courteous and efficient. Just expected something special and didn't get it.

For a short weekend stay in Melbourne (originally from Sydney) I was looking for a hotel that was unique, boutique and typically Melbourne. As a Design Hotels member (which the Adelphi is a part of), I went onto their website, fell in love with the images and booked straight away. Walking into the lobby was a dream. It had an...

The noise in the lane outside on weekend nights goes all night with no break at all . The decor is impressive but you forget it when you can't get peace to sleep . The location is close to all nightlife which becomes invasive ! The rooftop pool is confusing as the aea is shared with a third party function...

Dear “N8067ZAmichaels” Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay, and I am sorry to hear it wasn’t the most peaceful experience for you. Our location in the vibrant heart of Melbourne gives us access to the city’s finest dining and shopping options, but does leave us susceptible to the noise it may bring. We...

Very cool place to base yourself when visiting Melbourne. Right in the heart of all the action. Tastefully decorated, clean and lovely. Being a Melbournian, playing "tourist" for the weekend was great and Adelphi made the experience that bit more special. Very friend and accommodating staff!!!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
