We were quite excited to be staying here as part of a birthday celebration after reading the reviews, however, our experience was disappointing. There was no complimentary bottle of bubbles, chocolates or handwritten notes as mentioned in other posts despite staff asking if we were celebrating a special occasion when we asked for an ice bucket in our room!!! Upon arrival, the foyer is dark. Rooms are simple and small -however, the soundproofing properties are poor. Every time the adjoining guests left the room it felt like they were about to enter ours! The air-conditioning, as previously mentioned in other posts is noisy. Sleep was near impossible for us- unfortunately, the construction building, which also provides an ugly view from the window, had a technical issue with an alarm that continued for 15 hours -it finally stopped at 8am the following morning. Whilst the alarm issue was beyond the hotels' control, the resolution for guests in offering ear plugs fell short - - were we supposed to not talk to each other or watch tv in our room for the evening or go to bed? After several hours, we asked if a room change was possible and were advised we could move to a room with a queen bed but the alarm would most likely still be audible. I checked the website for room availability and saw a suite further away from the construction site was available - however when we asked we were told it was not available We were eventually offered another room with a king bed , however this offer came after midnight - too late . Communication from reception is constant and intrusive. -we received numerous text messages from reception throughout the stay including a message at 8am, telling us the alarm had finally been switched off- thanks we were aware!! We were then also sent a message asking us to rate our stay - it was only 10am surely this could happen after checkout! To compensate for the inconvenience they offered us a late checkout, however, a staff member entered our room stating she was unaware, she was apparently there to check the mini bar -totally acceptable! In-house dining is limited - breakfast menu items are not available after 10.30 and all day menu includes olives, cheese and antipasto- nothing else! There are great options nearby, however they are closed on Sundays, suffice to say breakfast was not option for us. The ability to order room service from Bodega the evening before, however, was a bonus. We were grateful for the staff in assisting with this. Overall we don't believe the hotel offered value for money - it's not a cheap hotel and when you consider a stay at the renowned nearby Windsor hotel has the same rate, it seemed inequitable.

Hi Allyson, Thank you for your review and feedback. Even though it is not good we do really appreciate it. Firstly please let me apologize for your disappointing stay with us. This was very disappointing to hear as it is clear that the ball was dropped. We do try our best to provide at least an acknowledgement of someone's special occasion, but unfortunately this is not always possible for a variety of reasons. I will follow up with the team to see what happened here. We do acknowledge that the a/c can be noisy in some rooms, we are exploring every avenue possible for a solution to this issue. Regarding the alarm from the Rydges construction site next door we did everything in our power to get this resolved including contacting the builders, Rydges management, security company, police and fire all of which were very slow to act and resolving the issue. The team on the night tried to manage this as best they could with quite a lot of room shuffling occurring. It is disappointing to hear that you were not offered a room move earlier in the night. I have already spoken to the team regarding this. As we do not have an in-house restaurant unfortunately our evening food options are limited. This is why we have partnered with local restaurants to fill that in-room-dining gap. We do also have an account with UberEats and Doordash so we are able to order from any restaurant one those platforms and have this delivered to your room and charged to your room account. I am sorry if this was not relayed to you. I have also sent you an email directly if you would like to discuss this further. Kind Regards, Nick Gastaldin Rooms Division Manager

Amazing and quaint hotel in the middle of the CBD. Central to a lot of attractions. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary and attend a wedding, and were welcomed with lovely front of house staff who had great recommendations. We have stayed at the Lancemore Lindenderry earlier this year, and can confirm this chain of hotels are absolutely beautiful with great service and amenities. The only improvement I would say is to offer more for breakfast as the Continental was a bit sparse for the price (but it was included in our room so I didn’t mind) and we had a lot more choice at our stay at Red Hill location earlier in the year. Bed and pillows were amazing and we were given the choice to request anything specific before our arrival for pillow selection. Had a great sleep! Will be back when we travel back to Melbourne and need to stay in the CBD 😍

My first stay at Lancemore Crossley St and I was travelling alone this time, so I was relieved to find a modern, friendly and safe hotel upon my arrival. Internet photos can be deceiving but the Lancemore was everything it promised! My room was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. I like where the Lancemore is located too; handy to theatres, many wonderful eateries and easy walks to the main shops or the tram stop if you're not wanting to beat the feet. As mentioned, I wanted somewhere safe to stay and I felt this while staying at the Lancemore. Definitely my top pick for when I'm in Melbourne.

It was our first stay at Lancemore Crossley St and we were both very surprised and delighted with our experience. Lisa at reception was fantastic - friendly, professional and helpful. This hotel takes the customer experience seriously - it's actually felt, not carried out by rote. All staff were pleasant and friendly - even the cleaning staff. The call a few days prior and follow up text message were a lovely surprise and one of those touches that exceeded expectations. Highly recommended.

Great find in the heart of the city in Melbourne, close to all attractions, eateries, transport and most importantly parking close by as well. Have been to this place 3 times now, doesn't disappoint me in terms of service and rooms are great and spacious with a contemporary modern theme, it feels like home.

We booked at the Lancemore Crossley St based on reviews and we were very pleased with our decision! The hotel is definitely worth it. The staff are friendly and helpful, always there to answer questions and they are there 24 hours 7 days! The room was clean, the linen was clean and it smelled so fresh ( not like some hotels where the towels smell like bleach if you know what I mean? Yuck) The bed had a doona not the traditional bedspread (I know gross) maybe I just don’t go to nice hotels but I have never been to a hotel that had a doona! I was happy!!! The pillows were large and soft, but they have a pillow menu, so if you don’t like soft, you can ask for something else you prefer. And the bed was king size and soooo good! The room was serviced daily, so we got new soaps towels, minibar, tea, and snacks daily. Plus there is AppleTV which I thought was a bonus. Not that you spend a lot of time in your room but I happened to get sick so I did spend a bit of time in the room and was glad I could veg out and watch Netflix. I absolutely recommend!

The hotel was in a good spot for getting around Melbourne. Lots of nearby eats and easy transport. The staff were top notch. Helpful, friendly, polite cant fault them. Thank you very much you were great. The hotel itself however was a little disappointing. The room had nowhere for your clothes bar a small rail, which ours had 4 hangers for two people in Melbourne with coats. There was a draw for an unnecessary ironing board but nowhere for clothes. We had to leave them in our travel bags and these on the floor of the room with our shoes etc, which although ok as a bedroom to sleep in it wasnt big for stepping around things. I would rather ring down for an ironing board if needed. The shower was tiny to move in, constantly bumping the door open as you turned. Thats when you could shower if you had hot water. Most days it was warm not hot and on the last day we couldnt even get warm so unless we were prepared to have one cold it was not to be. The roof top area looked very nice and inviting and with the right weather I’m sure a great extra, unfortunately it was too cold on our visit. I would be interested to know if the “stretch room” was to improve the star rating. The small, narrow, glass box for all to see with two stretching machines seemed a little pointless and not somewhere I would use. At the very least, if you think the room is worth having may I suggest you mirror or tint the glass.

Hi auzzleVic, Thank you for your review and valuable feedback. It is great to hear you loved our location and our team, but I am sorry to hear you weren't as impressed with hotel itself. We do offer several different room types that vary in size. Next time you stay please let us know and we can allocate you a larger room. That is the same with coat hangers, we have extras available on request. Our Stretch room is not the largest but does have the basics available. We also have a partnership with Fitness First around the corner for guest wanting a full-service gym. We do hope to see you again soon. Kind Regards, Nick Gastaldin Rooms Division Manager
