This hotel is situated right in the middle of Melbourne CBD, very close to Chinatown. The rooms I thought were very dated, and looked worn. I stayed here for a couple nights before driving the GOR, and then comnig back to the Langham just over the river. What a difference there is between the two hotels in terms of quality......

Very handy to all shopping in central Melbourne, ease of access and valet parking was very handy. Rooms are a little dated but clean and the breakfast was what you would hope for. The staff were very friendly and courteous.

Location was good but the hotel needs a total refurb. Rooms were small, beds and pillows were terrible - as was the bathroom. There are hardly any power points and there is also a mirror shortage. Definitley not up to my standard and I wouldn't stay there again however the service was very good and the people were friendly.

Room allocation, reception and room service attitude was quite inappropriate. I believe our organisation paid quite a lot of money to secure my stay. Said that, room service and housekeeping was excellent.

In the heart of the city. Perfect for our girls weekend. We slept and showered here and otherwise were out on the town :) Got a great rate, shared the room. The beds were comfortable and the champagne arrived quickly on room service. The bathroom was generous in size and welcomed by three women wanted to 'glam up'. We were...

For the Melbourne CBD, the location of this hotel is fantastic. The room I had (standard) was spacious and clean. Unfortunately that is where the posoitives stop. The whole place is very tired and in dire need of refurbishment. The carpets, lifts, bathrooms, and pretty much everything is from the 80's. The general clientele are tour company bookings - lots...

The location of the hotel is fantastic - we had 1 adult and 3 kids, so it was easy to train it to Melbourne then stay in the heart of the city. The pool was small but good, and the breakfast was awesome! The rooms are spacious enough and the windows open - which is a winner!!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
