This is an excellent value hotel in a great location within walking distance to everything. The staff are really friendly and the rooms are well equipped for their size... you won't be disappointed staying here.

We stayed one night at The Grand Chancellor Melbourne and were extremely impressed. Our economy room was upgraded to the premier king room. The room was lovely and clean with an amazing view. This hotel was in a great area and was within walking distance to most things in the city. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. The rooftop...

Good location, close to lots of interesting places for a drink and a meal, a nice bar with helpful staff. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, choice of pillows, good bathroom products, no views, but not bad.

I booked a weekend away for me and my partner, however we weren't happy with the initial room we were given so the lady at the front desk changed our room and we couldn't have been happier! However we were limited with comfy pillows and that affected our sleep.

Hotel Grand Chancellor Melbourne is conveniently located in the centre of the city. Our room was well equipped and clean, although a little small. Service was good and the roof top pool is very nice. I would definitely stay here again.

people were nice although we got asked what room we were in and how many people were staying got checked to make sure we were entering the right room which was uncomfortable, bed was two singles pushed together so the middle had a lump, very uncomfortable. I have stayed at about 5 different places in Melbourne CBD. This was my first time at the Chancellor and I only stayed one night. I booked a superior King room which was on the 14th floor. There is little soundproofing so the noise from the street below was pretty annoying when the traffic was heavy. The bed was comfortable...

The room was not as big as I first thought it was, my guest had a sleepless night, the receptionist was friendly and polite. I was unexpectedly asked to pay a bond i was not made clear aware of in the beginning.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
