Stayed here over the PAX november weekend in room 630. It was a three bed room (double & single) with a fold out couch. We only used the beds so there was plenty of space in the room to move around. Room also had a hanging space, 5 hangers, hair dryer, bar fridge, iron & ironing board. There was a... More

Got to check in early. Brilliant. Room still had a builders sheet in it when we arrived. The room was unfinished. There is a patch in the plaster behind the door not painted and the lights have unpainted patches around them. Granted that the hotel is under renovation but still... Shower head was cracked (however it was fixed the next... More

The hotel is located pretty close to the train station Southern Cross and the trams that run free of charge in the city. The rooms and the interior are however rather dark (no window) and not what you expect from Accor Group/Ibis chain.

Clean, comfortable and excellent staff. Close to Southern Cross station although a bit further (20 min walk) from the CBD. Highly recommended for a basic but very comfortable accommodation. I would definitely stay again. The only minor thing (which wasn't a problem for us) was there are renovations currently going on although the work is limited to between 9.00am and... More

The hotel is located close to city cbd and great for the skybus station just a few minutes walk. Great location for the Queen Vic Markets. Nice and simple hotel, clean rooms and quite good sizes. Would stay again..

The hotel was convenient to where we needed to go - close to Flinders Station etc close to the SkyBus drop off point in town. Rooms were sizeable but basic - no views etc but acceptable - I thought a tad expensive but we were there when there were a lot of things going on. Was told the airport was... More

Bathroom had mold on the walls, construction was happening on my floor. Reception said the construction noise would be from 9am but it started at 7am. There was a definite lack of cleaning as there was long hair everywhere which was very easy to see. Would NOT recommend.

Stayed here for a week as part of a group. Would not stay again!!! The building is old and tired and is obvious when you walk up the stairs on the threadbare carpet. My room was ok but the lime green and black painted walls on the corridor are a sight to behold. My room was ok for size and... More

Basic hotel in the CBD within walking distance of Southern Cross Station. Not the quietest location. Nice clean rooms with an arty interior. Look closely and the building's age may appear. Front staff are friendly, breakfast is good. Would stay again on business.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
