I've spent 2016 3 months at this hotel. From the minute I arrived to the minute I left I had an excellent service, the breakfast anf food was fantastic, the room was clean. The staff without exception were polite, attentive, quick and courteous. This hotel has such a great location. Just a few minutes to the CBD.I would definitely stay...

Spent the night here after a concert in town. Stayed in a twin room on the top floor with awesome views over treasury gardens, the mcg & the hills. Room was extremely quiet & blinds kept it super dark; we were grateful for the 11am checkout when we didn't wake til 9:45!!! There was even a 'pillow menu' to select...

Our main reason for choosing this hotel was its location on the circle tram route because one of us had limited mobility. Unfortunately 6 steps had to be negotiated every time we came or went from the hotel . The only alternative was true wheelchair access via the car park under the hotel and then the elevator from there. This...

We chose to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in Melbourne and stay at the Mercure Treasury Gardens for its location (garden views and not some concrete jungle) and affordability (thru Expedia). A request was made at time of booking for the highest possible room overlooking Treasury / Fitzroy Gardens and reason for our stay was also mentioned - no promises...

Situated on the edge of the city centre, this hotel looks out on the Treasury Gardens. The rooms are very clean, quiet and dark--ideal for sleeping. The staff are friendly and attentive. Although the breakfast is relatively expensive, it is imaginative and generous.

As I had to visit Melbourne with my wonderful assistance dog Gypsy, the hotel could not have been more accommodating. The staff did not make a fuss at all just let me go on my way. Gypsy was up & down lift many times straight to under ground car park. Bit expensive but handy. Yes I'll be back.

A pleasant, unpretentious hotel well situated for guests to explore the delights of Melbourne, either on foot or by public transport. Across the road is Treasury Gardens leading onto 'Captain Cooks' cottage so the frontage of the hotel is almost sylvan!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
