To be honest I wasn't a Novotel fan, but coming on business the location was good so I thought I'd book it. WOW, this might have made me convert, the room is lovely, the staff are fantastic, always happy & willing to assist & the amenities great. The rooms are big, quiet & really comfortable, the bathroom very well maintained....

Stayed at the Novotel on Collins Street for Liverpool FC game. Easy walk to MCG and close to everything. Room was well appointed and staff more helpful and friendly than most of the Accor hotels you go to. TV DID NOT WORK. Was keen to see some of the highlights of the game but couldn't ....was not happy! Not an...

Stayed in a superior queen. Good large room, comfortable bathroom, and good sizeable desk. Great to have a decent sofa to sit on, rather than having to sit on the bed to do everything. Good bar area near the lobby. Reasonably priced drinks and more snack type food (burgers etc). The only real down side was the room price which...

My partner and I recently stayed at the hotel and paid for a Superior King Room. However when we checked into our room we discovered that the room was actually a Standard Room and far smaller. We contacted reception and were advised that we were reassigned to a Standard as the Superior Rooms had been overbooked. Fair enough if it...

Located right in the heart of the city, this hotel is within easy walking distance of many Melbourne attractions. Room was a bit small and felt even smaller with the additional side chair. We tried ordering from the pillow menu the first night and whilst staff were very responsive, they had run out of most of the options - so...

Rooms are reasonably comfortable but why, oh why does the TV cut out at critical moments? Happens every time I stay here. Room service menu is limited and hasn't changed for six months. And actually, food is not that great.

Beautifully appointed hotel. The staff exceptional and attentive. Breakfast very nice great selection. Room we had was lovely, but we felt enclosed. Mentioned this to staff and another room was immediately made available to us which was wonderful. Thank you Franze. Location was so convenient to everything and shopping, great :-) definitely come again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
