I have stayed here during overnight work trips. Once you navigate through the first set of lifts to the lobby, the rest is all good. Staff are helpful, gym is small but open and functional. Breakfast was very good even on weekend. Handy location for access to the rest of the city. I would recommend looking at this place if...

I really appreciate very much when your front staff assisted in arranging for the rental car to the regional areas with good direction and assistance. Your staff's attitude really made my nervous driving into a pleasurable one. Well done.

I have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Novotel whilst in Melboune on business. The hotel is quite popular with business travellers, so I would probably recommend a stay for business travellers only as opposed to leisure travellers/tourists. Given its locaton in the heart of the Melbourne business district, it is a high traffic hotel and as...

Such a handy spot for the hotel - right in the heart of the city; and walking distance to Flinders Street Station, Fed Square, and pretty much every tram. The pull-up bay for the valet parking always has space, and is well-attended. It's right out front. The staff changed the station on our car radio which was odd, though.. Lift...

Great location to explore the city streets and lanes to find a cafe fror brekky. Rooms are spacious and comfy for one with excellent large work area. Price was a bit exxy as over $200 per night but I guess its what you pay for city centre.

I stayed here in July 2011 (A fair while ago now) for one night. I had previously been staying at another Melbourne Hotel but due to a flight schedule mixup booked a night at the Novotel on Collins. It's by no means a bad hotel, but I did expect a little more. From what I remember the staff were helpful...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
