We stayed in many hotels in Australia over 3 weeks, and this was one of the best. The difference was the staff. Plaudits to Mario and Chris in the restaurant and Michael on concierge. They are as good as you'll find anywhere (and I'm lucky enough to have stayed in some top flight hotels). Our room was a little small... More

A very comfortable double aspect room overlooking the gardens and side road. Great breakfast included in our package Very close to tram and bus stops, although walking throughout the city centre is not too much of an effort for moderate fitness souls Great shopping nearby at the victoria market

I booked this hotel for my wife as a treat. She hadn't had a night away from our son since he was born 16 months ago. The business class room was definitely worth the extra $$$ for the bathroom alone. She had a great time despite being a little apprehensive about being away from her Bub for a whole weekend.

We stayed for 3 nights in a business class room and had a great stay. The hotel is located in the city center, everything is easily reachable by foot. The tram stop is very close to the hotel. Our room was on the 10th floor and well appointed. Apart from the big room we especially enjoyed the free WiFi, which... More

Arrived late in the evening after long day of travel. Got to our room which was nice but then it started to rain heavily and obviously a drain just outside window was loose and leaky. Was so noisy & loud! Could only sleep by plugging in earphones and listening to loud music. Complained in morning and moved to another room... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
