It's not a 5 star hotel. Rooms are quite decent. Clean and refurbished daily with fresh towels and amenities. You have a service area where it's provided with microwave, stove, kettle and refrigerator. The best part is its location. At the heart of Carlton along Lygon Street. Abounding restaurants and cafes around the area. So much choices and no shortage...

Although not far from the city buzz it's quiet on Lygon st and you can cross the road with relative ease considering your in a city. Being a nature lover, the parks and gardens within walking distance are a delight. The lodge is close to little Italy with very good restaurants boutiques and cafes on your doorstep left and right....

This spotless hotel in the middle of bustling Lygon Street offers comfortable, generous sized rooms. Our slumber was, however, interrupted by a rhythmical huffing sound like the respirator in an intensive care ward, which wheezed at us all night. It seemed to emanate from the exhaust vent above the kitchen stove but defied all attempts to silence it. Otherwise an...

Was very clean. Value for money. Budget studio room with balcony. Small TV. Used just to sleep. Very noisy traffic and could hear other rooms' showering. If you just need a bed in the heart of Lygon Street this is good value for the rate.

It was large, clean and well equiped with a great kitchen & a spa bath. the balcony was awesome because Lygon St has such a great vibe. the hotel is located right in the middle of the fantastic restaurant scene in Lygon St and only about a 20...

Stayed at the Lygon Lodge and found it to be the perfect location for places on the "other" side of the city. Easy walk to the Melbourne museum, Melbourne University, not hard to get to the zoo and many other places of interest. The access to great Italian food goes without saying ...but there is also Koko Black...a great surprise....

Well, we travel extensively and usually use the large hotel chains but I wouldn't walk past the Lygon Lodge. Clean, spacious, friendly staff and value for money. Certainly not a 5 star hotel with Concierge, Travel desk and room service, but just a great place to stay. Oh, and it's in a great location.

There's no denying that this accommodation is centrally located for all the action in downtown Melbourne! Lygon Street itself is a little Italy, full of quaint bustling restaurants with a nice hub bub and great food. It's also rather attractive with various plants and awnings adorning the restaurants. Indeed our apartment had a good-sized balcony overlooking Lygon Street and so...

Great apartment. Location was excellent. Close to the city but far enough away to avoid city traffic. Room was great for the three nights we stayed. Bathroom is a little dated but the water pressure was excellent. The bed was a little soft but that is a very personal preference. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our...
