Well located on the edge of the CBD in the heart of Carlton restaurant strip. Quiet, very clean, small room but very well appointed, pleasant helpful staff all at a bargain price. You could not ask for more.
Although the staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful, the room itself was a big disappointment. I haven't seen a TV screen that small for about 20 years! Our room was on the city side, on the 1st floor. The window and balcony looked out onto...More
We stayed here on a short break to Mel our eyes to see a show and it was very comfortable amid all the restaurants in Lygon Street . Less than 20 minute stroll to Princess Theatre, free parking in street on weekends, great cafes for...More
We stayed here for four nights while my husband was working for the university. Maybe they thought we were students because it was just one up from a backpackers. The bed was tiny and short with very thin sheets and blankets leaving us very cold...More

If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way
they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.

Hi Gilbert I believe the car parking was free but it was a fairly small car park....careful on the way in through the back lane and out again as it is a thoroughfare for other businesses. There is car parking elsewhere around the area. I was more nervous about getting a car park at the front reception for check in as it is a busy street and has trams etc but it all seemed to flow ok.
There is some parking and it is very handy in that area of the city. The parking is limited and a little crammed So small car ideal Give them a ring or email them letting them know that you would like a park.
