Have stayed here twice now and both times have been great. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, very clean and bed soooo comfortable. Only downsides were blinds and curtains don't block out light and the linen was a little scratchy. But I would go back again and again.

Somerset on Elizabeth is a central place to stay in the Melbourne CBD. It is just around the corner from the Bourke Street mall, lots of trams and a short walk to the Queen Victoria markets. The apartment had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, but our bedrooms faced on to the giant illuminated sign, which was interesting, but slightly annoying at...

We stayed in a 2 bed apartment for a few days. The apartments are spacious and clean- very standard 4 star furnishings. 2 big bathrooms, full laundry and full kitchen which would be great for families. Transport and shopping on your doorstep but a tram ride to something to eat after 6pm. Quiet rooms despite being in the centre of...

We stayed for a week in Melbourne. This apartment was wonderfully located...in the middle of CBD. Handy to trams and shopping, and eating places. The staff were fantastic, the apartment was spacious, bed comfortable and serviced daily. The only criticism would be, furnishings were rather out of date. All in all would recommend this accommodation.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
