Ibis in the CBD of Melbourne was exactly what my friend and I needed for a 3 night stay. We wanted somewhere central and cheap. The room was basic but it was just a sleeping point for us. It had a fridge and seperate bathroom and was very cosy. The room was very clean! We had a room in the...

Stayed here for 1 night. We paid AUD 128 for a standard double room. Located in the heart of Melbourne city, you can find a lot of restaurants, cafes and shops around. Tram stop is just in front of the hotel. The room itself is clean, a bit small but comfortable, with air conditioning. Towels were provided. However, no kettle,...

Dear A, glad we where what you needed for this trip. Thanks for posting. It's a simple place, if we are honest, it's not for everyone on every occasion, so I'm very happy we worked for you. Please do consider us for your next trip. Safe Travels A. Kind Regards, Tracy. General Manager Ibis Budget Melbourne CBD

Clean comfortable and affordable. This is a hotel for the budget conscious Traveler, however it offers good value for money. Comfortable beds, Nice cool air conditioning and good shower pressure. Friendly staff, 24 hour reception, Guest laundry. Very centrally located, very close to the tramline on Collins Street and a short walk to Coles supermarket, bottle shop and plenty of...

Great location, in between Flinders Station & Central Station. Stayed for four nights. The room was clean, bed comfortable. Unlimited coffee/tea supply at 1st floor. The bathroom size is OK, they should add space to hang the towel though. I think the management should add extra safety precaution since the hotel can be access freely.

Hi Z, thanks for taking the time to post a review. We're so happy the hotel worked for you. We would very much like to include a card reader in our lift and are working towards that with the lift company and hotel owner. I am hopeful we get to include it as a part of our up-coming refurbishment. Safe...

Stayed for one night. The staff were ok. Location is good. The sheets and towels were clean. The decor is really grim. We had a family room. The double bed was fine but the bunk beds squeaked every time my daughter moved. Thankfully only one child with us. Ok for one night. Wouldn't stay again.

Dear JM, thanks for taking the time to post, we appreciate it greatly. I'm sorry it wasn't a happier experience for you, it's certainly not everyone's cup of tea, or something that works on every occasion. I'm glad you enjoyed the location & found the staff nice, we do love to help people. We are eagerly awaiting a refurbishment that...

All went smooth with check-in and they went out of their way to make our whole group of 30 feel welcome. The rooms as big enough, clean and no noise. Great after the Travel Lodge in Surry Hill, Sydney!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
