The YHA International Hostel in Auckland is located across Queen's Street, a famous street popular for its shops, restaurants and other things, making its location good and near to attraction areas in downtown Auckland. We stayed in the 4 person room which is very small and compact, only offering 8 square meters of space overall. There are 2 bunk beds...

I heard great things about YHA hostel and what a bad surprise to stay in ! I spent three nights there, I never took a hot (or just warm) shower, there wasn't any wifi during more than 36 hours, the bedbase squeaked terribly at each mouvement... And when I talk to the reception about my bad experience in their hostel,...

The accommodation was good everything we needed, we had a private room with ensuite at back of hostel. Not as noisy as the rest of our group, they had a front room on the street. Earplugs provided though. The location good for food etc, taxi outside front door. Queen street a short walk away. A bit unsafe at night if...

1 bed in an 8 male room, ok, but really hot room, stiffling Auckland temperature, showers close by so was able to shower reguarly. Visiting South African schoolboys rugby team, keeping everyone awake in the corridors, why can't the staff control; them or at least let the team management know? good reception area, comfortable lounging areas, good kitchen & seating,...

What to improve: - temp in the rooms is way too hot. Mine was facing the street and therefore the sun during the day. In the evening we still have ~28' in there. Window could not be opened appropriately. Needs to be improved. - toilet messy for 3 days. Show cleaning cycle. Even noticing the staff did not help. -...

I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could. It is a great location with nice staff but the beds are cheep metal that creak and groan when someone rolls over. The rooms were also noisy and hot (no a/c) and the communal area was stifling as the windows do not open. However, it was clean and the staff were very...

After a disgusting experience at Base Hostel, I was overjoyed by YHA! The rooms were clean, fairly spacious, with big windows, warm blankets, and a fan for added ventilation. The lockers provided plenty of space, and the mirror in the room was a welcome addition. The bathrooms were well maintained and sanitary (metal showers are SO much cleaner than others!),...

I stayed her when I arrived in Auckland, I arrived at 2am and I could still check in which was great, very friendly receptionist. Dorms was adequate, had lockers with charging points inside. I never had a problem waiting for showers or toilets, there was a bunch more down the corridor slightly. The hostels kitchen was large and plenty of...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights as our first stop in New Zealand. It was pretty average really. The staff were really quite cold and standoffish. They symbolised the rest of the hostel with their lack of warmth. In saying that, there was one girl that was friendly and professional. The kitchen was mostly well equipped but...
