Stayed in a private double room on the third floor. Strange set up with two wings at each side of the building. Our wing had 6 rooms and shared toilet, shower & kitchen area. Clean enough. However the rooms have obviously been made cheaply therefore a small gap between the wall & ceiling so could hear absolutely everything in the...

Having dinner with friends in the city & decided we just needed a bed - biggest mistake EVER! Was booked into a room on the 6th floor, lift wasn't in service (there was no mention of this on the online booking or confirmation). Along with myself & luggage, I had to get mymother with disability up 12 sets of stairs....

I stayed here twice. The first when I arrived in Auckland for a night. That stay wasn't too bad. All the rooms are set in its own apartment which is ok but there's a weird smell and they could be cleaned better. That night at 11pm a male cleaner came into the room which is very inappropriate to start with....

Staff are unhelpful, easily confused and generally don't care. Lift was out of service (required major upgrade won't be back for a while). Had to climb to sixth floor with all bags. Bed was good but did not look like pictures, room was old and carpet was quite dirty, it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Pictures show that room...

First hostel we have stayed in and the worst. The room in the picture is very misleading. Our room was tiny, had no window or ventilation, and I wondered what would happen if there was a fire. The place is a death trap waiting to happen. The shower was disgusting. The people in the rooms next to us were loud...

If you need a bed for 1 night in downtown....and you are not fussy, then it is acceptable. Very good position close to down Queen St. Staff friendly. Beds ok, but pretty dirty carpet. Showers old. Generally the whole hostel is very old. Noisy pub downstairs, but apparently good point for travelers to meet. Free meal for hostel guests.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for luckily only 1 night! We had a double room. The smell when first opening the door was disgusting, the cooking facilities were dirty, safety hazard and the whole place was a dump. We also had birds or rats we aren't sure running around in our ceiling! Never again.

From all of the five showers we found only one could actually be used. Others were broken or disgusting. The room had a weird smell and was extremely hot during the night!! It was a plus that the reception was open 24/7 though.

One of the worse of any hostel experience (and there has been a few). Dirty, badly staffed, noisy till early hours of the morning. Facilities were outdated and generally unclean. Moved to base which was much better. Worth noting that we were there and up for a drink, meeting people/going out etc. abd this was still a terrible choice
