My wife & I stayed at Sunderland House for our 3rd extended visit; this time for 7 days/nights in early March 2011, and once again loved every minute.

We stayed with Donald & Kathy for 3 nights, and enjoyed their warm hospitality. Donald is charming, thoughtful and goes out of his way to help. Breakfasts are very sociable, and the food is fresh and presented with care. We felt at home, with spacious indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy. Thank you Donald and Kathy - we highly recommend...

Our stay at the Sunderland House was amazing - we were direct off a long haul flight and arrived around noon. We were quite pleased to see a personalized sign welcoming us outside before we even knocked on the door! A nice way to immediately put us at ease after a long flight. Our room was very well appointed -...

Coming from Quebec, Canada, we couldn't have chosen a better place than the Sunderland House for the start of our trip to NZ! This B&B is simply amazing. Rooms: Our room was the Premier Suite. It was cozy, very clean, extremely well decorated and had a great view of the city. We had Porto and chocolates by the bed, and...

There is nowhere better to stay in Auckland. Sunderland House fully lives up to its no.1 B&B billing on Tripadvisor. Donald and Kathy are everything you want in hosts - charming, relaxing, knowledgeable and discreet. They have a purpose built, distinctive and elegant establishment in Herne Bay, an upmarket part of the city. The warm welcome was just what we...

Donald is a great resource and helped us with our itinerary in Auckland. The Sunderland House set the tone for...

Herne bay is a way from the city centre, however with Donald's excellent...

We can nothing but praise this superb B&B located in a very nice and convenient part of Auckland (we could even walk to the Sky Tower), where we stayed in January 2011. Donald and Kathy were absolutely lovely hosts and very thoughtful to keep our privacy yet easily approachable if we wanted a chat and find out about the features...

Beutiful and elegant villa (located in the very nice Herne Bay). The kind of place where you can feel good taste everywhere. And Donald is such an amazing host. We have been in NZ for three weeks, and visited many different b&b's, all very nice, but this one - together with Robertson House in Rotorua - was by far the...
