The place is just above a pub (no noise in the third floor though) and is centrally located. It is easy to reach from the airport by the sky bus.
Our short interaction with the staff (also the bar staff) was nice and efficient.
Either I wasn't in the mood or the mussels were not that flash, definitely not bad, just a bit tough. The service was actually good. I may return, but will try something else other than the mussels. The Hopt soda was good but not cheap
The location is excellent for anyone coming on or off a cruise boat in Auckland. The hotel has great character and history and the owner is on premise and very helpful. The beers that are brewed there are excellent and I especially enjoyed the Pilsner....More

I parked a car overnight in a nearby multi storey carpark. I had read bad reports of the Wilson group of car parks (in addition to locals warning me off!) so I used the one that you access through a hotel (struggling to remember name right now!) also in Albert Street... Not sure it would take a campervan. Charges for cars overnight reasonable ... as long as you collect car early next morning!
Street parking charges were expensive by comparison...
