Tokomaru Bay is the place of childhood holidays and wonderful memories, especially fishing off the wharf and swimming in the sea. Going back for a visit after too many years away was great. Bill and Jan made us feel so welcome and I really felt like I was 'coming home'. The Post Office was well equipped with everything we needed...

We loved our stay. It was very quaint and unique. Room was very spacious. The fresh eggs delivered for breakfast were a treat. Bill could not have done enough for us. Very quiet and the beds were comfortable. Shower was fantastic. We would not hesitate to book here again.

Tena koe Margaret. Hospitality/Manaakitanga is a huge part of our life here on the East Coast. It was a pleasure to host you and hope we can do it again in the future. Thank you.

When we stayed at the Post Office B&B, we were warmly welcomed to Tokomaru Bay by the Hughes' Family. The B&B itself is a cosy and unique renovation of an authentic Post Office rich with history. Although it has been updated the old character of the building is still very much present with plenty of space for the whole family...

We loved our stay at Te Poutapeta. Bill and his daughters met us with tea and home made shortbread. It was great to stay in what was the original post office building for Tokomaru bay. They have renovated it beautifully, it is old and original and it's great it wasn't modernised and robbed of its character. All the furnishings are...

We stay here in for one night and we were looking forward to a quirky -quaint-authentic B&B. It was so disappointing as it is just an old place poorly "renovated" and is indeed tired and shabby looking. I'm not sure where the comments 'beautiful renovated' come from but slapping on paint over wood and hanging tired(and a little grubby looking)...

We were met at the B & B by Jan as they live off site but still close. She showed us around the beautifully renovated historic old post office. It was well stocked with everything needed for cooking for the six people it accommodates. Heaps of comfy couches , seating , period fittings and furniture including an old piano. Plenty...

What a wonderful place to stay - can you imagine being greeted with a homemade sponge cake, full of cream and topped with passionfruit, delivered just because the owners wanted to make us feel welcome. This place is amazing and the owners Bill and Jan can't do enough to help you. No where else in the world but TOKO would...

We arrived at the Post Office on a wet and windy afternoon and were given a warm and friendly welcome, a cup of tea and homemade cake. The property is so spacious and full of interesting things to look at and to read. It felt rather like I imagine staying in a museum would feel. We spent a lot of...

We had a great stay at this unique lodging. Two couples, sharing a three bedroom house, two bathrooms, nicely appointed, with great hosts. Two nights was not enough. Enjoyed the bike ride to the wharf, and fishing and jumping off the wharf. Nice local people too. Looking forward to staying for a week sometime.

Oh wow!!! A group of five of us stayed here on our way up through the East Cape and were so impressed with this lovely, homely B&B. Just everything supplied. The breakfast was excellent. Our beds oh so comfortable. Would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone. Would be so suitable for a family as well.
