A new and very spacious hotel with fabulous rooms, comfortable beds and great Wifi. The food was good and the staff helpful. Good secure parking and you're right on the main street by the river with an easy stroll to restaurants

Day number 4, nice big rooms, very big balcony overlooking the swiming pool, and the staff were very friendly when booking in. The only drawback was the long walk with bags along the corridors, need bag trolleys. This hotel rated number 1 on our 5 day trip.

We had a lovely unit with a separate bedroom and a good size balcony over looking the pool in the courtyard. The only draw back was the long walk from the car park along all the corridors to our room. The unit was clean and tidy.

We were booked to stay at this hotel but had to cancel our trip because of Cyclone Cook. I called the hotel to explain our situation and asked for a reduced cancellation fee. Since I was cancelling within 24 hours notice they had every right to charge the full cancellation fee of one night's accommodation because those were the terms...

Great big huge rooms are awesome at this place. Comfortable bed... Middle of time with off street parking is great. Nice outlook from my room looking onto the pool. Size of the rooms is the high light at this place as well as the service from the staff

I was in Gisborne for one night, had stayed at the Emerald in 2014 for two nights and enjoyed my stay. Reasons why it was not so pleasant this visit: 1. The persistent dripping on the exterior wall ALL night. I called the front desk at approx 1am, they came up to the room. The response "it is because you...

I stayed at the Emerald on the night of my 21st birthday as a gift from my brother. My brother was in the room next to me and on check out, the next morning, we had to deal with unhelpful staff members. They had some how mixed up the charges for the two rooms and what rooms were staying in....

We stayed in a room for four people with a big balcony and view over the river. It's a spacious room with three beds and chairs. No kitchen, though. View from balcony is beautiful. There are restaurants and cafes nearby, but also a restaurant at the hotel.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed at the Emerald at least 3 times a year for the past 4 years. However, since going under new management I've found that staff are not very well trained or helpful. I've also tried to call on a number of different occasions to organise booking the conference centre rooms only to...
