Last night I made a booking via telephone at the Hotel's restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner. The wonderful service from Stuart when he took my booking and the 'extras' that he offered and arranged already had me looking forward to the meal and evening with my wife (who incidentally was very impressed). Thanks Stuart - I got lots of... More

This is a fantastic place to stay. Huge rooms..very comfortable and extremely clean. Service always attentive. .breakfast and dinners are delicious. I have stayed here many times over the years and feel its great value for money. Only one thing to note the one bedroom apartments don't have tv's in the bedroom. Showers are brilliant. Love it!

We found a small selection of lodging alternative in little Gizzy, and opted for this hotel because it is so centrally located. Everything in town is within walking distance. The room was spacious with a large bathroom, and good closet space. Large glass shower and plenty of vanity counter space were appreciated. We had a huge terrace overlooking the pool... More

We were pleasantly surprised after a long winding drive from Taupo via Napier to Gisborne. This hotel made our journey definitely worth it. Since they did not have a room with 2 beds for us they put us in a one bedroom suite with 2 king size beds and a huge balcony facing the swimming pool. We had our pizza... More

Very large and well appointed room. Conveniently situated for a stay in Gisborne which has little to offer. There are plenty of restaurants at the harbour end of the town. Navigating the hotel is bit of a challenge!

Called in for a 2 night stay and found this hotel in the centre of the CBD and close to all restaurants and Cafes. Thought it would be expensive but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were spacious and we have never had better staff looking after us. The staff made all the difference and we ended up staying an extra... More

My wife and I spent four nights at the Hotel from the 20th to 24th of February, and from the moment that we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff, including the General Manager Stuart Geddes, with whom we had several talks to throughout our stay. He is a very genial and friendly person, with a great sense of humour.... More

As a family we stayed at the Emerald for a few nights over Labour weekend 2013. The rooms were lovely, clean, tidy and very spacious. The staff were fantastic and the breakfast buffet in the restaurant down stairs was enjoyable.

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious, clean and tidy. Else were in New Zealand the tariff would have been at least fifty percent more. Definitely five star rating. Other services were of four star quality, nice and helpful. Could not ask for better.
