I only stayed one night but was delighted with the friendliness of the staff, the standard of the room and the proximity to the CBD. was in Gisborne on business so booked one of the cheapest rooms only to find that it exceeded my expectations - very warm, comfortable, very clean and adequately stocked. I particularly valued the restaurant being...

the motor inn is just outside the small centre of the town and was easily identified. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was small but very well equipped and very clean. The bed was marvelously comfortable and the linens spotless cotton. The bathroom was en suit, small but again well appointed a small fridge and table with two chairs...

Captain Cook is quiet, friendly, well located, clean and very reasonably priced. The new owners welcomed me and looked after me. I walked into town for dinner which helped stretch my legs after a long drive, but I could have eaten in the motel restaurant. A good place to stay when in Gizzy.

We only stayed one night but found the room to be clean and warm. Bed was very comfortable. We booked an economy queen room but would suggest a bigger one if staying longer. Ideally situated for an early morning start if travelling further up the coast as we were. Being right on SH 35 may make this place a little...

My wife and I checked into this motel at 2.00pm and a separate communal kitchen facilities were offered to us to make drinks and meals. We took advantage of the nearby coastal walks and other sites associated with Captain Cook's landing on the NZ soil on 09-10-1769.

Not that great. Yes close to the beach but closer to industrial area. Noisy un the early morning. Units are ok but lack any style and were light on toileteries etc. I was surprised it was a 4 star facility. The tv/ sky was excellent. We would not go there again.

Stayed for a night whilst satisfying a childhood ambition to visit this place who I I'd always associated with Robin Hood. Unfortunately wrong spelling, should have been in North Yorkshire !!! Never mind a really comfortable stay in temperatures of 30deg+. The a/c was a boon. Bed very good and all furnishings and decor in excellent condition. Opening comment refers...

Excellent accommodation; well-appointed, with plenty of room in the executive suite; Lovely, quiet place - despite it being opposite a camping ground and despite our being there over New Year! Very helpful, friendly manager. He was very willing to provide extra cutlery, crockery & seating when we had visitors for dinner. We have stayed here several times and would happily...
