From the beginning it was a very laid back conversation with Doug over email and the phone regarding getting us booked for a Saturday and Sunday night. I much prefer someone to talk to me like I'm a person and not just another client or guest, which both he and his wife Julie did. We arrived Saturday evening, booked into...

I went out on a 3 hr trek with Melissa (guide) who rode Rocky & I rode the lovely Bruce. What a fantastic horse to ride. Managed to get in some jumps in the wooded area which I really enjoyed & also at the end of the ride we galloped up one of the hill slopes. The funniest part of...

Couldn't have asked for more from such a friendly warm welcoming couple. Thank you so much for a great weekend. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of heading there. Think I can speak for all that came to Andrew and Clare's wedding that they definitely picked a top venue. Regards Richard.

We have been quite shocked by the obviously orchestrated negative comments about Mountain Valley by members of a group who stayed there recently. It could not be further removed from our own experience. We have been going to Mountain Valley for a number of years, mainly camping, but we have also stayed in the other accommodation (cottage, chalet, lodge room)...

We had the most awesome few days of fun filled experiences. We stayed in a delightful chalet that overlooked the river we rafted down. We were treated to beautiful wholesome food, fantastic weather and the most accommodating delightful hosts Doug and Julie. We will return....with the entourage!

Thanks for taking the time to place feedback on your recent stay with us. It was a pleasure having you here - the English fishermen were disappointed that you had to leave early.

In my experience there are two types of people who run tourism accommodation. There are the can's and then there are the can'ts. The can's will bend over backward to facilitate a request or perform a service for their guests. They possess a can-do attitude. The owner of Mountain Valley Retreat near Napier falls into the other category. Having recently...

Having experienced a 2 day 'holiday and family re-union' at the Mountain Valley Lodge i could never recommend the place to anyone other than folk looking for a camping spot by a very nice river in a remote area. Our excited arrival was very quickly extinguished by the negativity of the male manager, the largely unkempt state of our accommodation...

Two years in the planning; hundreds of exchanged messages between family from around the world; a facebook page; a search of NZ for a suitable camping ground to suit our requirements and from many choices we chose Mountain Valley Adventure Lodge. From the very beginning our contact with Mountain Valley was rude, defensive acting all the time as if we...

I took the 3 hour horse trek today and it was fantastic. Very reasonable price for what I got (and compared to most surrounding areas!) Scenery is beautiful and the horses are very well behaved. The guide was fantastic and changed the ride to suit me and my riding ability which led to a thoroughly enjoyable ride. I would highly...

My wife and our children started camping at MV some four years ago. We have found the owners Doug and Julie to be the most friendly and helpful hosts we could ever ask for. We used the MV venue for our wedding some 4+ years ago, it is a stunning country location with the beautiful Mohaka river as backdrop. We...

Thank you so much Andrea and Perky for taking the time to give us feedback on your times at Mountain Valley. We really appreciate you doing this. goodness knows how we managed to cope with your wedding of over 100 guests - satisfaction is clearly dependent on expectation but we find it really disappointing when people pay for budget then...
