Pepper Tree lodge is interesting. From the outside it looks a bit like beach town motel, doors opening onto the ground floor rooms with a second floor balcony. The patio area and path up to the office gives it a bit of a resort like vibe as well. Brian (the owner?) is a bit of a character and I can...

There are a lot of Pros and cons to this place. It is spotlessly clean and Bryan does an amazing job of maintaining it. It has everything you need and the beds are very comfortable, If you like to sleep don't book it for a weekend. The street is party central and the noise is still going at 3 in...

We stayed in a family room with private bathroom at this hostel in January 2016. Helpful host. Good common areas. Found a half-empty bottle under the bed, otherwise clean. Low pressure in very basic shower. Extra charge for wifi. No reading lights for bunk bed.

Great location on Kings Rd and much more reasonable in price and quieter than larger chains on the same street. The rooms were extremely clean as was the communal area, kitchen and bathroom. It was a stones throw from the beach and you could hire kayaks for free from this backpackers. You could also hire bikes for free here as...

The lodge is a great place to stay for a short stopover in Paihia. Unfortunately I was unable to sleep at all because of bed bugs biting me the whole time. I had to leave and sleep in the car. It was definitely bed bugs I could see them crawling on the bed, hopefully the problem will be sorted as...

from time to time we do get unwelcome visitors, normally advised after folk have left. they arrive on people luggage and can live a few days before the residue of both the sprays and toxic smoke cannisters kill them, all of our bunk beds are sealewd. This means that every crack, nook or cranny has be filled with silicon, both...

We stayed at Peppertree Lodge at the end of our New Zealand north island adventure, and what a luxury it was to have booked a spacious studio with our own separate living, sleeping and bathroom area! The room was clean and a good size, with good facilities. Peppertree Lodge is a 5 minute walk from the beach and close to...

Liars & Crooks!! I paid to stay at Peppertree Lodge for 4 nights. shortly after checking in to this place I knew something was wrong when I realized that my shower gel disappeared within the time it took me to finish my shower and then brush my teeth. Once I realized my newly purchased bottle of soap was missing, I...

interesting commentary. Thew showers you speak of are common to be used by all guests, if you lost your shower thigs then I suspect that another guest has taken them. You asked me if I could put into my safe your passport and travel documents, as did your travelling companion. When you came up this was not a small bundle...
