An amazing hostess. Very caring and happy to chat and advise on local points of interest. Wonderful home baking and oh those fresh eggs for breakfast. We had the Rose Room which fulfilled all our requirements and more. The bed was very comfortable. The rural outlook and Helen's gardens provided a tranquil vista. Highly recommended. Thanks so much Helen, especially...

It was so nice to read your review of my B&B. Its was lovely to have you stay and Im glad you enjoyed the marmalade. I have heaps of rhubarb at present so am trying variations using that as a base for jam. The rhubarb and ginger seems to be going down well and am looking forward to trying other...

A warm welcome from Helen after a tiring journey of 5 hrs in the rain made us feel relaxed the moment we entered. Each and every small items in the house are given attention to. The beautiful writings on the wall will make you wait and take a notice of it. The bed was very comfortable and had a good...

As we both work in a five star hotel, so its our weakness that we always expect five star service everywhere. And definately, thats what we got in 'Be my Guest'. Helen was a perfect Host. She upgraded us to ensuit room for 2 days, nice breakfast, delicious chocolate cake before we went to bed and 6 free range eggs...

Thank you so much for your comments. You are a lovely couple and it was so interesting to talk to other people who are in hospitality. You both have such great attitudes to the roles you have and I think the Hotel is very fortunate to have you. I hope you enjoyed Waitomo caves and also the eggs!!

Helen was a charming hostess and made us feel very welcome in her home. The bedroom was warm and comfortable and we also had the use of a guest lounge which we didn't use as we spent much of our time chatting to Helen in the kitchen diner. As we suspected we might arrive quite late we had pre-booked with...

Im so pleased you enjoyed your stay here. Having your company for dinner was such a bonus and I certainly enjoyed our conversations. I hope you got to sample some more good NZ wines and did a few more scenic walks before you left NZ. Thanks again.

Actually, this is the best B&B I've ever stayed. Nice bed and clean room. All the decoration in this house is beautiful and warm. Helen is very friendly. Although my English isn't good enough, we still talked all night. The price is ok. Free Wifi is very fast and stable. The breakfast is nice. If I will go to New...

We had originally booked in to a Motel in New Plymouth until our daughter said:- have you tried "Be My Guest"? (her friend lives next door!). So we looked on the internet and thought, wow this sounds like something completely different. We had quite a bit of trouble making the booking with Agoda but we eventually succeeded and so glad...

We normally stay in Motels/campsites and the like, but decided to give a good old-fashioned B&B a go with our 10-year old son. And wow are we glad we did!!! Helen is just brilliant, an absolute delight, and her accommodation is clean and elegant, with just a touch of quirky! Much like Helen herself I suspect...?! The room was great,...
