From the moment that we walked in through Gilly and Brian's front door we were treated like family. Gilly showed us to our room and then invited us for tea, cake and a chat. They provided us with valuable information on what to see and where to eat in Taupo. All of their suggestions were spot on. Our room was...

Thank you Steve for such a glowing review, and good to hear that your stay was memorable. My muffins are becoming quite a legend and always happy to provide takeaway bags if you cannot fit them in at breakfast.

Our bedroom was immaculate - the cookies in the jar historic and replenished daily. Breakfast was superb - special praise for the muffins which were sensational. Help...

We cannot rate The Pillars highly enough. From the moment we arrived, we experienced superb hospitality. Our spacious, comfortable room overlooking the magnificent gardens was a delight. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have slept in anywhere. The house is beautifully appointed with such attention to detail. Our hostess greeted us with a lovely pot of tea...

A very welcome retreat in the midst of an action packed trip to north island. Most welcoming hosts, Jill and Brian, couldn't do enough for us. Delicious breakfast and comfortable, large bedroom. Spotlessly clean. We enjoyed some down time in the beautiful grounds for a couple of hours one afternoon. Excellent wifi and tv reception.

Such a warm, friendly, and gracious home. Our hosts were welcoming and provided us with lively conversation, local restaurants, travel suggestions and answers to a myriad of questions about NZ. The Tahara Suite was outstanding--the bed and pillows, the warm bathroom floor on a chilly day, flowers in our room, as well as other details. We enjoyed a lovely glass...
