This is THE best place to stay in NZ. Pat and Russ are the ideal hosts - they couldn't do enough. Hot tub is brilliant. Breakfasts awesome. Room was terrific. The blueprint that all B&Bs should follow

We stayed two nights with Pat and Russ in January 2016 and wished we had booked more. They are simply excellent hosts. Everything was superb - the welcome, the accommodation, breakfasts and the good company. I could go on. It must rate as one of the best B&Bs in the whole of New Zealand, if not the best. Needless to... More

Without doubt, this is the best B&B we've stayed in. From the minute we arrived, we were welcomed like family . Pat & Russ are wonderful hosts, and their house is superb, with beautiful views over lake and mountains. Nothing was too much trouble. From the fantastic breakfast ( special mention for the ginger & white chocolate muffins) to the... More

Never have I been made so comfortable. Sink into the warmth of Pat and Russell's home. Pat and Russell travel widely themselves, and they understand the needs of the traveler. Special touches you won't find elsewhere: air-conditioning, home-baked treats in the refrigerator, extensive hooks for your clothes, pumice stones, and a hot pool with water drawn fresh each day from... From the moment we arrived being welcomed with tea and homemade banana cake we were made to feel like one of the family. The room was excellent, food superb and the homemade fudge, cookies, jams etc etc beyond expectations. They were keen to hear of our adventures over a drink in the evening and loaned us their bikes for a... More

From the moment we arrived our needs were attended to - after a hot day's driving we were told the cool spots to sit, shown to our room which had airconditioning and given information about where to visit locally, and supplied with some afternoon tea. Little touches were appreciated such as noting the hayfever we were suffering, with immediate offers... More

What an amazing B&B!! Pat and Russ are unbelievable hosts! Homemade fudge and ginger snaps in the room and homemade jams & baked goods with breakfast! How does Pat find the time to make them all? Our room had a lovely balcony & an amazing view of Lake Taupo and the hot tub was the perfect remedy after our Tongariro... More

Sometimes you wish you could give a score of more than 5 out of 5 and this is one of those times. We couldn't fault a thing, everything was A+ - and the icing on the cake (2 cakes really) the outside hot tub which we were encouraged to skinny dip in as there were no other guests, and big... More

A great location with lake views and an easy short walk to the lakefront. A lovely room with separate sitting area and large balcony and a large, modern bathroom. All very comfortable with all you could need. Also some quality extra touches. Pre dinner drinks and nibbles, a hot tub in the garden and bikes if you wish to use... More

“Both rooms excellent, one with ensuite and the other just over the corridor, but that one has the door to terrace and a sitting room, so either just fine. Both have lake views.”

“Rooms are cozy in winter and have big windows so should be airy and cool in summer. The breakfast homemade meusli, jams, marmalade, yoghurt, and muffins were excellent along with toast and a cooked breakfast. Easy location to find, easy to park, great views.”
