Was cheap and cheerful. A bit tired and the restaurant was deserted, so we didn't go there. Plenty of off street parking, well lit. The room was a good size. There was a single and a King, made up of two singles I think.

Hotel furnishings are old and tired carpet and curtains need replacing! Noisey as walls were paper thin and you can hear the neighbouring rooms and hall way. Restaurant well dont even know why they bother only open for 2 or so hours per day. and their address the entrance and carpark are on a different st so I had to... More

I have stayed at Hotel Armitage a few times over the past 5 years. It is a wonderful hotel. Excellent value and service. The rooms have everything you need and the beds are very comfortable. The hotel is in a prime spot. Walking distance to the centre of Tauranga. Real value for money. You also have the hotel restaurant if... More

Rooms and the rest of the hotel is pretty old. Need refurbishing. Shower head is broken in the room with spa . Suppose to give us a refurbished room but is not. Very expensive to stay. But is very convenient to The Mount.

Overpriced room with very little attention to detail. The room was mostly clean, but that was it. Very flimsy pillows with only two spares (a room for 5). The heat pump was too noisy to run at night. Our room was next to the staircase and very noisy as a room. The decor was very tired (including a grossly tarnished... More

This is a very "tired" hotel. They got the booking wrong - a double bed instead of two singles, curtains coming off the tracks, dirty duster left in the room after cleaning, decor very dark and dingy, couldn't accommodate us for dinner unless we waited 45 minutes to be served (then of course we would have to wait for our... The pictures on the website definitely do not live up to expectations. The pool area was an absolute eye sore. We paid extra as we had 3 adults and got to the room with only 2 glasses, 2 towels and to fill the.jug up you had to fill from the sink in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean but still... More

We stayed one night, left early the next morning to get out as soon as possible, and while waiting for our pick-up in the reception, three other people checked out all with negative feedback - too pricey for what you get, room not cleaned from previous visitor and the third excuse I didn't hear but they were not happy leaving.... When you arrive at the hotel and walk into the reception area you are meet by a glamorous area which has wood grain panels on the walls and stain glass windows. The rooms are a different story. The beds are short (I am 5 foot six inches) and my feet hang over the end of it. Doors need to be... More

After staying at other more expensive hotels in Tauranga I choose to return to one of my favourite hotels, Hotel Armitage. It offers clean and functional rooms in a slightly older style.
