Quality room, with no view and plenty of construction noise from 7:30 am onwards. Good water pressure in shower and tv in bedroom with sky. Parking undercover and helpful staff. Walking distance to pubs and restaurants. Credit card was charged two days out and wasn’t asked to produce it.

Pluses and minuses to this property for us. Plus: secure parking, harbour view, generous size room. Minus: mini bar emptied (and no onsite bar or restaurant), location is “dead”, no atmosphere - like an apartment building, not a hotel, strong cooking smells from someone’s fried breakfast - really permeated our room. Not worth $380 a night.

Stayed with my mother in a Exec King Room with twin beds. It's a good quality, apartment style hotel. The room was really spacious, comfortable beds, a spa bath, and thoughtful provisions such as coffee press, make up wipes and drinking water. Was disappointed to be informed at check-in that parking was not included, and charged at $10/day. Something to note is that the surrounding area, and Tauranga in general has an huge amount of construction underway, this didn't disturb our stay, however it means there are lots of building activity, traffic cones and many retail shops not open. If you are travelling for a short stay or business this hotel is great. If you are after a relaxing holiday or longer stay, suggest staying over the bridge at Mt Maunganui.

This was our second visit to the Devonport and both stay were wonderful. The hotel is well situated, clean, bright and the rooms well appointed, but what really makes the hotel is the staff which are brilliant! Everyone is always smiling and we felt welcome at all times. We would absolutely return!

This centrally located hotel is reasonably priced and beautifully appointed. Convenient underground parking is available, and an excellent breakfast menu offered. The water view rooms on level 5 have the nicest outlook. King size bed, big bathroom with bath and shower, Staff are welcoming and helpful. One of our favourites.

We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the wheelchair accessible rooms and apart from the first night (fire alarm went off at 4:30 in the morning, and we had to be evacuated out onto the main road, thankfully it was a false alarm) we had a comfortable stay here. The hotel has a covered secure car park which normally cost $10 per day, but we got this included in our room rate as a promotion when booking online, the hotel is in a good location, not far from some nice restaurants and pubs. There is a lovely cafe a few doors down from the hotel where we had breakfast on every morning of our stay called the Mediterraneo Cafe. Our main concern was the location of the wheelchair accessible. Bedroom was on the top floor of the hotel and furthest away from the stairs and Lift, there was no evacuation procedure. Discussed on checking in with regard to wheelchair assistance. If there had been a real fire, then we would’ve stood no chance of getting out.

Excellent location, walkable to restaurants and shopping. Staff were welcoming on arrival with a complimentary drink and snack. The room was modern, spacious, clean and comfortable complete with spa bath. A 15 min car park is available in front of the hotel if you are driving and want to do a quick check in and drop before heading back out. Otherwise parking on the street is timed and depending on the time of day attracts a fee. Parking is available via the hotel if you are parked up for the night.

I stayed at this property for a night when travelling on the road. It was my second stay at this property though the previous stay was a decade ago. This time I stayed at a suite for the night. The suite was spacious with a good layout and split between the living area and the bedroom. I was able to do some work, eat, chill out and sleep within the suite nicely. The suite also had a very small balcony though it was just overlooking the back of several buildings around . Staff at the hotel was attentive and efficient, though staying there only for one night meant my encounters with staff was limited. I enjoyed my stay at this property and will consider staying here if I visit Tauranga again in the future.

Not really a hotel in the traditional sense but, it is clean with large rooms and quiet. Friendly front desk, with underground parking. You get access to the Tauranga club for meals and they do charge back to your room. Good for the business traveller, good for the family. Central, good views if your on that water side. Plain but functional. In a town short on good accommodation options, it does what it promises.
