We visited our hometown Wainui for a few days and thought we'd try out the DB Homestay for our 12th wedding anniversary for 2 nights. We fell in love with John & Annette's wonderful home especially the very top level (level 3) - amazing views from our room - breathtaking! We were blessed to get to know our lovely hosts...

When we were staying at the Days Bay in February, we were very welcome and had the best view of the area! The (only) guestroom is upstairs, with a great view of the sea, which makes it really romantic if you are travelling as a couple. In the room you have a kettle for tea and a small fridge, a...

Thank you Vicky, we have some neat photos of you heading off into the harbour, it was such a nice day. We will have a second room shortly for special events, we moved our office to commercial premises a couple of weeks ago.

What a fun alternative to staying in the city of Wellington, which we also did and loved the night before, taking the ferry across the harbor to this lovely place. Annette and John have one amazing room, the Crows Nest, perched atop their beautiful home at the water's edge with a marvelous view of the water and city across the...

My partner and I stayed with John and Annette in late March 2014 and found them generous, knowledgeable and obliging hosts and the "Crows Nest" a great alternative to anonymous hotels. The suburb of Eastbourne has its own charms but is only a pleasant 20 min ferry trip from Wellington CBD. The private upstairs accommodation commands panoramic views of the...

Thank you Tony. The proximity to Wellington is often not well understood, we enjoy living here for the same reasons, often dining or seeing the theatre without worrying about the trip but enjoying being a bit away from it all in the quiet and charm of our beach.

Our two day stay at John and Annette's "Crows Nest" guest house was very memorable both for the quality of the place itself and for the outstanding hospitality of the hosts. Our suite upstairs was extremely comfortable and elegant and the views across the bay were wonderful. It was easy to get into Wellington by the ferry which was only...

We enjoyed a two night stay at Days Bays Home stay in November at the end of a tour around the North Island. The house is exquisite in every way. I notice that most reviews for this property comment on the views - this is for good reason - the situation is absolutely amazing and the attention to detail in...

Thank you Anne, we enjoyed your stay too. Our weather has not been so kind as is was when you visited, although recent guests got the timing just right. The surf was up for a lot of December & January. February is looking great.

We stayed at Day's Bay Homestay for four nights. Everything about the stay was a great experience, starting from the warm welcome from John and Annette on arrival. The room upstairs was exquisite with uninterrupted views across the bay. The lapping of the waves lulled us to sleep each night. In the morning we were woken by the smell of...

I write this review on behalf of my in-laws who absolutely loved their 4 night stay here.
