First impressions seemed good, a brightly coloured building with a big lobby. Unfortunately this was short lived, the kitchen was far too small, there was one long bench that wasn't nearly enough for the amount of people in the room, and although there are 3 fridges this still wasn't enough to accomodate. This was by far the most run down hostel I have ever stayed at. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the sheets felt dirty and very worn. Ok. Same problem again just like any other hostel around australia, tasmania and new Zealand. Dirty rooms Smelly bed sheets and pillowcases. Unfortunately our hostel owners has a bad habit of not hiring a cleaner and not actually taking care of the hygiene issue seriously. This hostel one of them unfortunately and not surprised. We stayed in this room two nights but the atmosphere and hostel are not recommended. The room was bare necessity, window would not close,a test was so thin every time I turned I would feel a different bar pressing in my back. Duvet was thin, ratty and not at all clean(picking off dark hairs though both of us were fair)....

This is a very cheap backpackers and as such is what you would expect. An old building, small rooms and basic beds and toilets / showers. Nothing wrong, it was clean and warm and quiet. The service was outstanding. I booked for a concert night when the whole town was full, the concert over ran and I didn't turn up...

Fine location, good beds, hot showers, free wi-fi. No complaints whatsoever. Nothing to rave about, but I enjoyed my stay and would totally stay here again. I bought a BBH card from them, but they didn't apply the discount, so that was pretty lame I guess.

Spent just one night in this hostel. Only positive point is the friendly staff. I was frozen the whole time there, with no heating in the room or elsewhere. The kitchen was the warmest due to people cooking. They didn't provide clean sheets or a pillow case. There was a fitted sheet on the bed but the pillow and comforter...
