Okay it's a bit tired and in need of some tlc. But we liked the quirkiness of our King suite with its 4 poster bed and the en suite bathroom was big and spotless. The staff were all warm and welcoming and we had a lovely meal in the pub, liver and bacon for him, lamb shank for me. Usual...

This hotel/bar has been around for a long time. It's obviously not as it was, but it's a classic old drinking venue. Great beers on tap and a bar man who is definitely part of the local scene. Drinks are very reasonably priced, 2 cocktails and 2 beers for $40 is good for Wellington. This isn't a place you stumble...

I booked this hotel after reading the reviews on here.... Positives... the room was a nice size, the shower was very powerful a little short for my self as I had to bend my knees to wash my hair! the bar was fantastic, staff very friendly and did table service which was very nice, awesome food! Negatives... the room had...

Good value for money, friendly staff, room fine with fridge and tv but bed very creeky. Could do with a revamp but was clean and did the job. Wifi was good. Powerful shower although bathroom old fashioned. Free basic breakfast included. Not central Wellington but super close to some restaurants / pubs and Botanical gardens including cable car to the...

Great Area to stay nice village feel. Hotel was comfortable the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a free continental breakfast which was a bonus as we weren't expecting one,and the food in the restaurant was good. Easy walk to the rose garden and not too far into town for the cable car.The museum Te Papa is also worth a...

Forget the smart modern often-sterile hotel rooms in downtown hotels and step back to an era of comfort, space and friendly hospitality in an historic area walking distance from the railway station, parliament and the Botanical Gardens. It's family-friendly with big rooms that have an extra single bed and can fit a rollaway if you need an overnight stop before...

Comfortable hotel located in the lovely Thorndon neighborhood with close proximity to town. Hotel rooms are a bit dated and pretty basic but absolutely fine for a quick stay. I stayed in room 7 which was a good size with a double and single bed. It overlooked the road and had a nice little view up towards the Botanic Gardens...

Nice friendly staff, simple ample food, good family atmosphere. Sunday evening lots of families but plenty of space. Nice homely atmosphere. No need to book. For those interested a clean (heated in winter) smoking area to the side so no need to go onto the street.

My wife and I stayed here for a night. We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the city center and the ferry. We got a pretty large room, well-kept and clean. The bathroom was tiny. Storage space in the room was limited. A major downside is that the room didn't have heating. This is a problem if you...

It's a good option if you're staying only for a night. Gets noisy in the night because of the front street. Breakfast is served at a common table outside and then not looked upon even if it needs refill. Parking option is a great relief. All in all a decent place at a decent price.
