Very good hotel staff attentive and professional. Booked a king room travelling with friends and the beds in NZ are apparently not as big as in Australia so they happily moved us to a twin room, so beware in NZ King is closer to a queen. Had dinner in Portlander meals are Wonderful in flavour but small and expensive. Wine...

Very comfortable room, staff friendly and helpful. Very decent food in the restaurant, good selection of beers and wine. Location is great, close enough to the waterfront and business district. Valet parking was handy too.

This is my kids favourite place to stay. Rooms are spacious (1 bed suite), pool is fantastic and we all love the breakfast. Huge variety of food and healthy drinks (can even whiz up your own). Front desk are always lovely and easy to deal with, everything is clean and fresh. Would be nice to have a tv in the...

Have been here a few times on business and it is a great, central place to stay. Rydges are always hospitable, and the beds are pretty comfortable. The restaurant is a bit hit and miss and does get busy. It is Wellington after all.

Average hotel, with above average cleanliness. I was happy with the staff that I encountered, very pleasant. The rooms themselves were quite small, and you were 50/50 in your chances of a good view. I was luckily able to look at a big building! /sarcasm. The internet was fine. You're only allowed 2/gb a day, so if you're using extensive...

Hi Wayne, Thank you for your review, especially the kind comments about our staff. Regarding the internet, we actually offer unlimited free Wi-Fi, but upon further investigation since your review, we have discovered that sometimes the log-in page does stipulate 2gbs. We are currently in the process of getting this changed, so thank you for bringing this to our attention!...

Fairly new hotel near the Government buildings - found the general aye slightly condescending to this weary traveler, also the waft from the griddle in the lobby and indeed up to my room on the 6th floor made me wonder if the ventilation was adequate. Room where nicely furnished with all the amenities you would expect from an upmarket hotel.

arrived at the Rydges a little early as we flew in early they were happy to hold our bags and done check-in easily. Hi there, Thank you for the positive review! We are more than happy to hold bags for guests prior to check in, it definitely beats struggling round Wellington with bags in tow! We're sorry you found breakfast disappointing however, and we will be sure to look into ways we can improve this. Thanks again! Catherine H

Nothing to complain about here. Well located right near the water. Friendly efficient staff. Comfortable beds, warm shower, tv that worked. Everything you need. Didn't try the restaurant but it was always full for dinner. Thought the auto light night for the bathroom was really good

A nice hotel in a great location for business. Attended a conference at the hotel which made things easy. To be perfect, hotel needs a larger breakfast area as this was very busy and kept bumping into people.
