Stayed here early October, initially booked for 2 nights but was so good we increased to 3. Owners very friendly and helpful with good recommendations of bike trails and shared their knowledge freely. Rooms were wonderfully clean and fresh and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Great place, warm friendly owners who make you feel welcome from the sign in. We have 2 big German wirehaired pointers and this wasn't a problem at all. They have lovely units specifically for pet owners, and units for people that don't, what a difference this makes. Nice swimming pool for those Blenhiem hot days. Very helpful with restaurants and cafes. We'll be back

If you are considering staying here do yourself a favour and don't. Woman was rude and unhelpful. Highly recommend the Phoenix Motel across the road. Their units were much nicer and the managers were lovely. They were dog friendly and we had unlimited internet.

Firstly, we love animals and this is why we are dog friendly by arrangement – as is most of the dog friendly accommodation in New Zealand. We have specific dog friendly units so people that are allergic can be assured that no animals were in the unit previously. This family had booked into a unit but had not mentioned anything about their dog – not at the time of booking and especially not at the time of check in when they arrived. They went to their unit and all of them (including the dog) entered the unit. They came back up to the office with our Guest Compendium which outlines our “Animals in Units” policies. If they had mentioned the dog at the time of booking or at the time of check in they would have already been given these guidelines and the Pet Rules. I am presuming this one policy was what prompted them to come to the office to tell us they had a dog. ***If you are found to have an animal in the unit without prior arrangement, you will be asked to leave immediately, and no refund will be given I tried to offer a dog friendly solution, but they didn’t want it (as it was going to cost a bit extra). The young guy shouted profanities at me. After this the older guy came to the office, leaned over the desk shaking his hands in my face "I will post bad reviews everywhere and ruin your business”. There was no point in saying anything to him because he was yelling (I didn’t really get a chance to be rude as I couldn’t get a word in). My husband was working in his shed and came out to see what the noise was and asked him to leave me alone. They did not stay but did get a refund (contrary to no-refund will be given Animals in Rooms policies). They found somewhere else to stay, but the first thing they asked before booking was “do you take dogs?” – Pets by arrangement works! P.S. All our guests have access to free unlimited WIFI on all devices when they stay here.

Hi Sarah. Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed your stay and found everything to your liking. We know you were after a quiet unit and we were glad that you found this to be the case. All the units down the back of the complex are very quiet. We do hope that you get another opportunity to come and stay with us again sometime. All the very best.
